Half Step is a group of dedicated fans & students of the Grateful Dead,
capturing the spirit, improvisation, sound & complexity of Grateful Dead music.
Established in 2004 on Long Island, Half Step has been mastering their craft while winning over crowds of veteran Deadheads, newcomers and non-Dead fans alike.
When seeing Half Step live, one can clearly see the attention to detail that the band has in delivering a Grateful Dead experience. They stay true to the traditional Dead show format and use similar instruments, amplifiers and effects to further authenticate the Grateful Dead sound. As players, they have what it takes to present the Dead's music to even the most critical of fans.

I have seen the original Greatful Dead Band twice, back in the day. This band is terriffic and would make the Dead proud. Absolutely priceless. !
my daughters hired 2 of the band members for a surprise party they threw for me, these guys played quality grateful dead tunes, i was blown away by there music, wharf rat, crazy fingers, black peter and so much more. I would totally recomend them. 2 really nice dead heads they were. they made my birthday one of the best parties I have been to in a long time. thank you guys, from a long time dead head. p.s. even non dead heads were all dancing
