Hi! I am Lainie and a new resident of Monterey. I have been playing the harp for almost 25 years and performing local gigs for the past 10. I specialize in events to include (but not limited to): rehearsal dinners, weddings, cocktail hours, hotel lobby entertainment, dinner parties, daddy-daughter date nights, and church events. My background is in classical harp but I enjoy vocal and other instrumental accompaniments. My pricing is fair and my services are professional. Reach out for all of your musical needs!
Lainie performed for us at my house for a very small dinner party on Valentine night. She created an amazing magical night for us with her beautiful performance. She showed up on time and was very friendly and most importantly very talented. Thank you for creating an unforgettable night for me and my guests. Highly recommend her for your event.
Lainie was the vendor I was most excited for at my wedding, and delivered everything we were hoping for and then some. Lainie always responded quickly and professionally to me. She and I discussed songs for my wedding ceremony and she helped me plan what songs to play for my processional and recessional. My vision was a bit unconventional as I wanted to surprise my husband with Dr. Dre for his entrance song, and Lainie delivered flawlessly. My husband was beaming down the aisle with his surprise. Lainie then played a mix of songs at our cocktail hour and everyone said she was the vibe and added to our aesthetic. Although I'll never have a wedding again, if I did have another event that called for a harpist, Lainie would be our top choice.
She arrived early for my Christmas tea. Well prepared, and she dressed well for the event. Delightful personality. Will definitely have her come play for me again!
Lainie was a dream to work with. She arrived early, looked beautiful, and everyone at our open house absolutely loved her music. Very talented. Thank you so much, Lainie!
Lanie played beautifully for our Mothers 83rs birthday party! We are still receiving compliments for her entertainment. Our mother can’t stop talking about it!!
Response from Harpist Lainie:
Christina, thank you for the sweet words. I had the best time!
Lainie joined my Senior Living Community for our annual Mother’s Day brunch this past weekend—and her music was enjoyed by our residents and families. Simply put: phenomenal!!!
I was scrambling to find a harpist and contacted her for her availability and was so swift to return my call. She kept in touch with me as the event got closer, and discussed an array of music genres she would play as well. I definitely appreciate the follow up call to check in, too. With a drive well over 1 hour from my work, she was on time and even took time to speak to our guests following the performance. Our community event for Mother’s Day was even more delightful because of Lainie.
I would highly recommend Lainie for any formal/semi formal event you are considering to pair with elegant music— you will not be disappointed.

If hired, I would provide professional, on time harp music specifically tailored to your event. I have over 10,000 pieces of music in my repertoire and if I do not have a specific piece you are looking for, I can find it. I will typically arrive 30 min to 1 hour prior to my scheduled time in order to unload, setup and tune the harp.
I bring my own chair and music stand so no additional equipment will be needed. I do play outdoor venues, in fact it is one of my favorite spots to play, however if the weather becomes an issue, I reserve the right to bring my instrument under cover.
My name is Lainie and I love to play the harp. I have been playing since I was five years old when I saw a man hand making folk harps at a Renaissance Festival in my hometown. My parents made me promise to start lessons. Fast foward 25 years later and my love of music is deeper than it has ever been. I have been a part of school orchestras, the Metro Symphony Youth Orchestra in Atlanta, as well as the Air Force Academy Orchestra. What I love to do most, though, is play at weddings and gatherings of loved ones. I have played weddings, cocktail hours, funerals, family reunions, brunch events to name a few. My family brought me to California, but I have played gigs in SC, GA, CO. I look forward to providing professional, beautiful entertainment for your next gathering!
The harp requires a 4x4 space with the instrument, bench, and stand. If the event is on grass, I request some form of a floor covering to be placed down (3x3) to protect the bottom of the instrument.

David in the Bible is the original influence in my decision to play the harp. It is one of the oldest instruments ever to be played and I grew as a young harpist in the Church, playing for ceremonies as well as various events the Church held.
I am classically trained, which means classical music is my forte, but I do enjoy dabbling in jazz and pop pieces every now and again.
