Our show is authentic and described as equal to the shows seen in Hawaii. Our beautiful costumes, exciting dances and fun audience participation numbers will make your event fun and memorable.
We have a special show for children that includes a live monkey.

In the future you could buy a headset microphone to project your voice. Very sweet lady. I didn't know the group would be so big and the air would break. She did a good job with all of those things.

I'm so sorry about the mishap on a very hot summer day, Kalina told me that it was very hot and because of the heat you ended the show early I don't think she knew that the AC had actually broken!
I'm sure with the heat the party guests were not into getting up and learning a hula dance. I'm so sorry to hear that happened.

According to Maia everyone had a great time. I will advise your dancer that you suggest she put more dances between the audience participation numbers.
Doing more dances would be no problem as Maia knows scores of dances.

Maia did a great job! She was so personable and had the crowd involved. It was fun! Wish we had a better sound system for a microphone though.
I was nervous our group would be way out of their comfort zone with this group and they kind of were, but the Waikiki Dancers got everyone out of their shell. Fun was had by all!

Maia performed at our associated living property in largo, FL last night. We had an unusually cool and windy evening at our inside/outside party, but Maia just let her show go on and said “ Hey, no worries I am an Island Girl”. She had a Dance floor full of people on their feet dancing” Thanks a million Maia!!!

I am so sorry you were not happy with the Hula dancer/instructor that I sent for your daughter’s 10th birthday luau . The original date was on Saturday, April 2. Unfortunately, due to the rain expected Saturday on Friday you postponed your event to Sunday. Your Dancer, Maia, had to work a double shift at the resort she works at on Sunday, April 3 and I was already booked. To cover your event I had to send a very experienced Kumu Hula (master hula iinstructor/dancer) to perform for your little girls party. I had left you a voicemail that Maia was not available Sunday 4/3 and that I had had to get a replacement.
Your hula dancer did tell me that she had reservations about performing for your event because she had gained weight during Covid. All her dance classes had shut down and there were no Polynesian shows allowed. She is authentic but currently a bit chubby. She also told me she felt insecure but I assured her that the girls wanted someone that can also teach Polynesian dance and the event was for children not adults.
I left you several voicemails saying that both Maia, Sina, and myself were unavailable and I had a very good dancer and instructor driving down from Hernando for you. My only other option was not to have a hula dancer at your daughters 10th birthday luau.
In retrospect I should have told you that the Dancer I sent was overweight because being fat is often unacceptable. I figured with her dancing ability, great personality, family appropriate authentic costuming, and teaching ability the kids would have a great time and her weight would be not be an issue. I kept thinking This is for a little girls birthday Luau.
The pictures I post on Gig Salad are actually us. Yours was a very unique situation I had to jump through hoops and reach out to dancers I know outside our troupe to find someone at the last minute.
Again, I’m very sorry you were disappointed with the dancer.

This professional group had our teens clapping, laughing and up and dancing for a 16th bday party for our son and daughter ! It was great for all ages and genders ! So easy and flexible to work with . You will be glad you hired them and the fire dancing is a real show stopper.!!
Hired Waikiki Dancers for a surprise 50th Birthday Party for Fiancé. They were professional, on schedule, and put on a fun interactive show for all of our guests. The emcee / Ukulele player kept the show flowing and gave us a true Luau vibe. Nani was super nice and easy to work with and all of the performers were fun and respectful. A wonderful experience enjoying and authentic Polynesian show. Your guest will feel like they are watching a show in Tahiti or Hawaii.
It's like going to Hawaii for the night without the airfare.
The Waikiki Dancers were formed in 2006. Among them they combine pver 100 years of experience in performing Polynesian shows. The group rehurses weekly and are constantly adding new dances to their show.
We perform at least twice weekly.

This talented musician has recorded several CDs with original songs sung in English and Samoan that were top sellers in Samoa & American Samoa.
