Heather Michele Meyer

Heather Michele Meyer is a career artist and multifarious human with decades of experience in classical vocal performance, stage acting, aerial arts, and the business of wine.
After going to school for vocal performance in both Santa Barbara and San Francisco, she moved to New York City in 2005, where she studied circus arts at The Muse Brooklyn, Circus Warehouse and Aerial Arts NYC. She has also trained extensively at NECCA, and with Paper Doll Militia.
As a soprano in the operatic world, Heather made her professional debut in 1998 and since 2014, she has focused almost exclusively on the works of living composers.
Within her circus artistry, Heather explores multi-disciplinary collaborations, and has debuted multiple aerial singing pieces. She is most proud of her recent residency grant with Hupstate Circus and the Saltonstall Foundation in April 2024 to develop her one woman show.

CLIENT MUST PROVIDE:

Safe Rigging Point (see below) ­
Functioning sound system
Access to a private warm­up space separated from guests for 60 mins prior to performance ­
A minimum of 30 minutes on rigged aerial point prior to event opening so that artist can rehearse for specific spacing and test point for safety

ACCEPTABLE RIGGING:

For all aerial acts: A professionally installed rigging point capable of supporting at least a working load of 2000 lbs (910kg) and dynamic swinging motion. The point must be accessible via means provided by the client or venue manager (scissor lift, SAFE ladder, etc). If a venue contains a built-­in aerial point, artist must be notified of the name and contact information for the rigger who installed the point.
Aerial equipment can also be hung from I­-beams and trusses given that they satisfy the aforementioned force requirements. Contact artist for a site evaluation if you are unsure about your space. If there is doubt as to the safe load-bearing capacity of beams, a structural engineer must be consulted.

HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS

For Rope or Aerial Fabric:
­ Vertical Clearance to ceiling: minimum 24’ (7.3 meters)
Clearance around point: 15’ radius (4.5 meters)
For Hammock or Dance Trapeze:
­ Vertical Clearance to ceiling: minimum 18’’ (5.5 meters)
Clearance around point: 15’ radius (4.5 meters)

ARTIST PROVIDES:
­Necessary apparatus(es) i.e. rope (multi colored dark purple/orange), aerial silks/hammock (copper or gunmetal gray), dance trapeze (black ropes)
Music in the desired format for the venue sound system
Costume and makeup unless otherwise designated by client
Personal liability insurance
