High Street

High Street is a high energy band with music tailored towards dancing styles like Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing. We play for both dancers and those who wish to remain seated, but most people can't help but dance when listening to this genre of music. Our audience varies greatly, sometimes being mostly teenagers, and sometimes being mostly elderly folks. Regardless of age, everyone thoroughly enjoys listening and watching. We aim to recreate the youthful, rambunctious energy of rock n' roll through our music, our stage presence, and of course... coordinated vintage outfits!

Prior to the formation of the band in 2023, lead vocalist Richard Thomas and lead guitarist Nick DiDonato had met while taking swing dance lessons together on High Street in Pottstown, PA. After getting to know one another and discovering a shared love for oldies music, they considered starting a band and looking for additional members. A few months later drummer Austin Bright and bassist Brad Herring hoped on board and the four never looked back. The group decided to call themselves “High Street” in reference to their Pottstown roots and their early days of being aspiring swing dancers. The group enjoys bringing rock n” roll back to life, and seeing the contagious joy that music brings to people’s lives. They have had tremendous success over the past year, playing at historic venues such as the SunnyBrook Ballroom. High Street even plans on releasing original music sometime in 2024. We hope to see you out on the dance floor!
