Hipp-sters is a seasoned group playing Jazz, big band classics from the 40s- 60’s. We take it serious and have fun entertaining groups across S.E. Ohio and West Virginia. Several of our members have played professionally and over half work full time in the music and entertainment business. We have residence at the People’s Bank Theatre and play ballroom dances yearly.

We travel w as few as 3, up to 6 horns and play mostly big band era tunes. We play 10% modern pop from the 40’s and a few from each decade. We can play all instrumental but we often carry one vocalist who will sing 2-3 songs per set.
We specialize in Fox Trot like “New York New York”, play Swing like Jump Jive and Wail, waltzes like Anniversary Waltz, Bossa Nova like The Girl From Ipanema, Cha Cha like Sway, Rhumbas Tangos, Mambo, etc. but our bread n butter is the businessman’s bounce FOX TROT.
I’m a public school band director who spent several months playing on a cruise ship. I’ve provided bands for many types of clients and treat each job with respect and lots of detail.
