Saw Hollywood U2 for the first time ever last Saturday at Bolsa Chica beach and it won't be the last time! It's no exaggeration to say they are now officially my 2nd favorite band. No, not my 2nd favorite U2 tribute band, they are my 2nd favorite band in the world! They were absolutely amazing! We have a local U2 Tribute band close by and one that travels here from CA a couple times a year and Hollywood U2 blows them away (or Blows Their House Down, if you will) :) They played mostly older stuff because that's what the crowd was really into but they do play stuff from Innocence and from Experience as well! I can't wait to hear more newer stuff next time! After watching lots of Hollywood U2 videos online, it's clear they have the deepest selection of songs vs any other U2 Tributes I have encountered. They even played 11 o'clock tick tock (performed amazingly)
We are already planning another trip to see them in mid August (hopefully on back to back days!) It's worth the 12 hour round trip for us. If you are lucky enough to be local do see them, you'll be glad you did!
Hollywood U2 is BY FAR the BEST!! My wife Shannon and I are HUGE U2 fans. We’ve seen U2 live at least 20 times and even scheduled our vacations around U2 tours around the country. It was only natural that we hire a U2 Tribute band to perform at our wedding. Being musicians ourselves, we ‘auditioned’ many tributes all over SoCal by attending their shows.
We found many U2 Tributes ranging on our scale from “Laughable” to “Pretty Good” ..And THEN we saw HOLLYWOOD U2. OMG We were blown away! The level of passion, dedication and above all, MUSICIANSHIP of this band is truly incredible! They offered a show with the precision and energy that you can only get by seeing Bono himself. Of course we hired them immediately and they were a huge success. We received calls for weeks from our 300+ guests raving praises for the fabulous U2 show they saw.
The band members were courteous and friendly and above all, punctual. They arrived on time - played on time - ended on time - and put on a show exactly as we described we wanted. “Hollywood Bono” (Joe Hier) aside from being one of the nicest guys I think I ever met, was extremely professional and at the same time easy going and accommodating. There is no comparison between his performance as Bono and the other tributes. This man IS Bono.. or at least you WILL believe it by the end of the night! We truly felt as if U2 themselves performed for us. We are now finding ourselves following Hollywood U2 to their performances just as if they were really Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam. I saw Hollywood U2 perform locally in Agoura Hills & was blown away, as U2 fan since Zoo TV, I couldn't believe how much the band looked and sounded like U2. I'm usually extremely critical of Tribute Bands, but I couldn't fault with Hollywood U2. Hollywood Bono's performance was amazing and being able to experience the feeling of a U2 concert on such an intimate level was unreal.
With my birthday coming up, I was able to book Hollywood Bono to perform an acoustic set for my B'day party and guests. My expectations were exceeded as he strolled in as "The Fly" my favorite Bono persona & my guests were all in awe. From his costume to guitar, vocal and charisma it was as if Bono was actually at my party serenading me & my guests. I definitely recommend this band. I have never seen any one act or sound more like Bono, his professionalism to accommodate me and my guests made my birthday the most memorable to date. I can't thank Hollywood U2 & Hollywood Bono enough. Keep doing what you are doing guys!
