Hot Pickin 57s

We had Hot Pickin 57s out for a fundraising event for a small school that serves children with significant special needs. They were absolutely wonderful! We got so many comments on how great the band was, and it set the atmosphere for a great event! The band members were so kind, and Max was wonderful to work with! Would definitely book again!

We had a great time! Everyone in the band was on time, super nice, and fun. The music was fantastic and the crowd enjoyed dancing! We recommend the band and would hire them again to entertain us!

The band was once again on fire for our annual holiday party. They did an amazing job and our guests loved them.

When my cousin told me that there would be a bluegrass band at the reception following her brother’s memorial service, I was both surprised, and yet not surprised. This is Texas, after all, where music is as visceral a part of our souls as our actual hearts, and yet, his death at 68 was wholly unexpected, sudden, and gut wrenching. The fact that he loved bluegrass as much as his chosen profession as a physician certainly made it seem appropriate, but still…
They played Will the Circle Be Unbroken twice, at our request. The first time, we cried and hugged. The second time, we sang. They sang Country Roads, and gave the lyric “Almost Heaven” new meaning. They played Rocky Top and there was clapping along, and singing, and a whole lot of cheering at the end.
What we will remember of that day, above all else, will be the music. It drew his three grief stricken daughters out onto the patio for an exuberant dance that would have absolutely delighted him. It provided a comforting and nostalgic background for us as we traded memories and unified in our grief. It reminded us that, even in the darkest times, life goes on. And there will be music.

Hot Pickin 57s played for an outdoor school fundraiser and was a huge hit. Everyone loved the music and it was upbeat, lively, and energetic. They were flexible with our scheduling and made for a great evening all around.

The Hot Pickin 57s were absolutely phenomenal. They played at our Hill Country wedding, both at the ceremony and the reception. The band put together Bluegrass versions of our favorite songs and my 91 year old grandmother danced for the first time in her life outside of her kitchen! All of our guests (even those who weren’t from Appalachia) loved the music and variety of songs. The Hot Pickin 57s truly made our wedding day amazing!!

I fortunately discovered this band and was able to hire them for our daughters Texas Themed Wedding. A lot of the guests were from out of town and the locals just wanted to have a good time and this group is amazing on all levels. All the guests were impressed with the live band blue grass and fun music - you just want to tap your toes and dance - something about a live band just takes the wedding or occasion to a whole new level of enjoyment - we can’t thank them enough and will be looking to enjoy hearing them anytime they are playing in the area - check them out only if you want an amazing good time

We hired the Hot Pickin 57s for a 1,000 person church event! We could not have been more pleased with our decision. Max and the team were easy to communicate with. And not to mention, their music is fantastic! If you are considering hiring them, I cannot recommend them enough!

Hot Pickin 57s were an incredible group who played at our company tailgate for the UT vs LSU game this past weekend. They arrived early and were all set up and ready to go well in advance, and were professional and responsive throughout the entirety of our interaction. The music itself was perfect for our event and provided a great ambiance for our guests. We have received many compliments on the music that was played at our event and it was credit that they deserved as musicians and entertainers. Booked the Hot Pickin 57s for a 50th birthday party. They showed up early to set up and took care of everything. Didn't have to worry about a thing. And they are a great group of musicians. Traditional Bluegrass and Americana. With a few very bad "Dad Jokes" thrown in between songs.

The Hot Pickin 57s were a really great experience for us all around. They were very professional when planning the event and all pre-event communication, even helping us pick songs when we weren't sure what to play. At the event they were wonderful, the music sounded great at both the ceremony and reception. Eddie Collins and Max Zimmet performed at the Lake Travis Community Library on Friday, July 13th at 4pm. Their music was fun, upbeat, and a pleasure to listen to! Max and Eddie shared a mix of popular songs with their own twist and flare. We would love to see them again!

We had the Hot Picken's 57 play for a few hours over the Memorial Day weekend for our residents and they did a fantastic job. Music was up beat and fun. They have a fantastic fiddle player who everyone raved about after the show. Max was wonderful to work with and made everything super easy for us. I look forwards to having them come again.

Hot Pickin 57s is a group of amazing musicians with an incredible repertoire of music. They played for our outdoor professional reception and added a lot to the event. Great music, easy to work with. We hired them for a corporate cocktail party and they killed it. I will definitely hire them again.

Hot Pickin 57s were the perfect Austin band for our rehearsal dinner for my son and his Austin bride! Fine acoustic musicians all, these four guys can play anything -- country, rock 'n roll, bluegrass -- and did -- to the delight of our 100+ guests.

Max and Eddie worked with us on every detail of the performance for the party, including the set lists. At our special request, the band accompanied the family on four songs -- including our sweet and silly song to the bride (about the groom). Thanks to these guys, we never sounded so good, and our guests (from everywhere) loved the music and the sing-a-long!

Even though we are from out-of-state, Max was so easy to work with. He was professional, prompt, reliable in every way -- a great point person for the band. The guys were generous in their pricing and affordable.

The band also has a terrific sound tech who made sure the music during the cocktail hour was loud enough, but not so loud that guests couldn't hear each other.

I can't say enough good things about the Hot Pickin' 57s. Book'em while you can!

Max Zimmet Hot Pickin' Bluegrass Band is made up of great musicians, who were super professional, reliable, and all around great to deal with. They helped make our party special.

Last night, Max Zimmet Hot Pickin’ Bluegrass band, absolutely MADE my husband’s 50th birthday party. We had about 45 adults in a fun, intimate setting upstairs at South Austin Brewery. The band played for two hours, engaged the crowd in a friendly comfortable way and set a perfect, Austin-style ambiance for the event. These guys were incredibly talented musicians and so charming an easy to work with. They were flexible and friendly throughout the planning, set up and evening of the party. I got many compliments on the music all night. My son said, “This feels like the kind of band you want to have at a ranch wedding. Fun and Texan approved!”

Max Zimmet & Hot Pickin Bluegrass was the perfect group for our pop-up shop's launch party! Very easy to work with from out of state and even better in person. Set up was a breeze and for two hours they were the perfect soundtrack for our party. From our San Francisco crew to the local kids attending from just down the street, everyone loved the music!
