Houndbelly is a Toronto rock trio with a selection of original songs. It was founded by Sigmund Bighund, an enterprising basset hound who thought that creating a rock band would provide a new source of doggie treats. Composed of the mostly human Susanimal - a highly accomplished keyboard player and vocalist, guitarist Stevie Joe Axolotl - the illegitimate son of the ghost of Elvis, and Beef, a drummer who was raised by a family of wild boars. The three are happy to showcase their songs for the public whenever they can all arrange releases from their institutions. They continue on, enjoying playing uninvited gigs at funeral homes.
