Jenny is an experienced wedding pianist and passionate musician located in Houston. She has been playing piano for 24 years and has over 8 years of experience performing in public; she has performed in front of an audience of 1000 and has experience playing alongside a full orchestra, various choirs and ensembles, contemporary bands, as well as accompanying vocalists and other instrumentalists, in addition to playing as a soloist. She has been a wedding pianist at numerous weddings and large events and is able to offer advice and provide clients with a variety of music to choose from depending on the type of event and the style preferred by client.
We hired Jenny to play piano during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and we are so happy that we did! We had a DJ, but decided kind of last minute that it would be nice to have live music during our ceremony. Jenny was quick to respond to emails and accommodated all of my many song requests! She did piano covers of Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars for our ceremony. She played beautifully and was so professional. One of the songs she played while guests were waiting for the ceremony to begin was "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis. It just so happens that this was my great grandmother's favorite song (she passed away last year) and this was so incredibly special to my grandma who was there because it made my great grandmother's presence apparent, even though she wasn't with us in person. Thank you, Jenny, for making our wedding so incredibly special!
Response from Houston Wedding Pianist:
It was a pleasure, Katherine. Thank you so much for the review! :)
I was very pleased with my decision to hire Houston Wedding Pianist - Jenny was talented and very professional at my event!

It was my pleasure!
I was hesitant about hiring a wedding pianist in the beginning as our wedding ceremony was very brief and simple, and there wasn’t much room for music to be played because during most of the ceremony our officiant would either be speaking or we would be, so music was not needed, but in the end I was so glad that I hired Jenny, as having live music to be playing when my wedding party and parents and myself were walking down the aisle had such an impact! As I was walking down the aisle to the beautiful music that Jenny was playing live for us, I felt quite emotional and I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I was walking down the aisle in a room that’s in dead silence. I feel that this part alone was worth it to have Jenny there. Also, Jenny was able to time the music so well that when I got to the end of the aisle, the song coincidentally came to a smooth end, it was very well done and seamless. On top of that, she also played beautiful prelude and postlude music for us, making our wedding that much more memorable to Frank and myself as well as all our guests. Thanks again, Jenny! We’ve really appreciated your wonderful musicianship.

Jenny has been an amazing wedding pianist for us. She was very dedicated and went the extra mile to make it perfect for us. She has put a lot of heart into arranging the music to fulfill our special song requests, and she even made a separate trip to visit our wedding venue beforehand just to make sure she’s familiar with the setting, how the piano is positioned in the venue with respect to the aisle where I’d be walking down, the sound quality of the instrument and the acoustics of the place, etc. On the wedding day she arrived early to get set up (even though it was pouring that day), and she started playing prelude music as soon as the first guest arrived (I was later told about this by one of my bridesmaids who observed this). The music that Jenny played for us were beautiful! She’s a very dependable and gifted pianist, we would highly recommend her to anyone!
Jenni did a lovely job. She played all night and our guests really enjoyed her.
Jenny played piano at our wedding and she was amazing! I can't say enough about her talent, professionalism, and personality. We were not too sure about the kind of wedding processional songs that might fit us, and Jenny was very patient and helpful to offer great insights. Jenny was also accommodating when we at one point wanted to switch one song for the bride processional. She was very responsive to calls and emails and on the wedding day, arrived early just to get herself familiarize with the piano and setting. Her work was so seamlessly executed! What really surprised us was that Jenny priced her work very affordably, but the quality of her work and service was definitely above the par! A wallet-friendly investment and best value! :)

Decide After We’ve Met
Typically, once you contact me, I will reply within 24 hours to address any questions you might have and confirm your date with my schedule as well as e-mail you a brief form to fill out so that I can get a sense of your musical preference or style of wedding. This will help me prepare for our initial meeting, where I can provide specific recommendations tailored to you, then we can go from there.
Booking
In our initial meeting we will work out a tentative list of songs and start discussing a few details. After the meeting, if you would like me to be your wedding pianist, I will then e-mail you a contract to sign and send back to me with your deposit. Once I receive your deposit, I will secure the date on my schedule to perform at your wedding.
Rehearsal
Between then and your wedding rehearsal, I will provide you with the finalized list of songs and when each song will be played during which part of the ceremony.
Customized Prelude Medley
I typically begin playing 30 minutes before the ceremony. For the prelude, I have some recommendations, but in the past I’ve also done it many times where the couple provides me with their favorite songs, and I arrange a customized medley, mixing their picks into a continuous flow of music that plays smoothly and beautifully.
Typical Flow of Music at the Ceremony
Once the official ceremony begins, I play one or two processional songs to accompany the formal entrance of the groom and bride’s families and the wedding party, then usually a separate song to accompany the entrance of the bride to make it extra special. I then perform another piano solo for the lighting of the unity candle (or for another traditional event). If it is a Christian wedding ceremony, I will then play a couple of congregational worship songs. Towards the end of the ceremony, I play a recessional song after the bride and groom are introduced as husband and wife and as the wedding party exits. At the end, I play another couple of postlude songs as your guests leave the ceremony venue.
Again, any of the music can be tailored to your specific preferences or style of wedding.
Duets with Other Instrumentalists
In the past I’ve also played duets at weddings with other instrumentalists such as violinist, cellist, organist, etc. If you do decide you need another instrumentalist, I could provide recommendations of instrumentalists whom I have worked with in the past.
Reception / Cocktail Hour Music
I have also performed at wedding receptions and during cocktail hours, usually following the wedding ceremony. You and your guests may prefer live piano music at the reception (and/or cocktail hour). You may choose particular songs or a certain genre if you have specific preferences. Otherwise I have a repertoire of music that fits elegantly with wedding receptions. I have also accompanied couples on the piano for their first dance, the father-daughter dance, the mother-son dance, etc. If a piano is not available at the reception venue, I can supply my own piano and audio equipment.
