Huntsville's In the Mood Big Swing Band

A 21 piece orchestra requires a healthy amount of space. Most rental spaces can more than adequately handle the full band plus the event attendees. When enquiring about events, keep in mind the space constraints of the venue. Once contacted, it is best to take a trip to the venue to do a sight check, and to make plans for setting up the band, as well as finding proper power sources and other nuances that will help us plan for your event and make it as smooth as possible on the day of.
If your venue is indeed too small for the entire band (many wedding venues tend to be on the small side), the band can be broken down into a medium band with 12 or 13 people instead of the full 21. There is a sacrifice of harmony with less instrumentation, but the quality of the band is just as good. The full band is always recommended, but the medium band is also a viable option.

Our band was inspired by the legacy of Glenn Miller and the groundbreaking sound that he discovered. Our core music is swing, and consists of the major hits of Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others.
Aside from the typical big band swing and latin songs, we are also an ultimate variety band, and can accommodate a large array of genres and events. We have a decent variety of pop, oldies rock, Motown, and even some funk in our book. We have three vocalists, specializing in different styles, so the possibilities are endless!

Brass players can only play for so long before lips turn to mush! To keep the music going, we play in 45 minute sets with 15 minute breaks in between. We will provide our own instruments, music stands and stand lights.
For small to medium scale events, the band can provide a sound system that will be satisfactory. For larger venues such as convention centers or concert halls, a larger system must be rented. If one is needed, we have a trusted vendor and can take care of the renting legwork for you, and include the price of the rental in the quote so you won’t have to worry about anything extra.
