My name is Charlene E. Green, a.k.a. Hustle Diva. I'm an author, empowerment poet, and certified life coach. Through my various written and spoken works, my goal is to help people build strong self-esteem by implementing the courage to pursue their best interest at all times, and to inspire their internal transformation. I do this mainly through the use of my self-mastery-based poems/spoken-word performances/poetry workshops, and my Life Challenge and Life Mission consulting services . I'm also available for motivational talks about the literary industry, career and creative advice, and self-esteem issues, in addition to my regular services.
I have the pleasure of working alongside Hustle Diva during several events, and she is the real deal. Always an audience favorite, she’s a poet that has an “intellectual way with words.” Each time she shares a new experience from stage (through poem) it’s like she read my diary. She has a way of not only telling, but also connecting. I feel lucky to share the stage with her.
I saw Hustle Diva at a poetry festival recently, and she blew me away with her motivational style poetry. I felt encouraged and ready to conquer certain issues in my life after I left. Anyone who needs a loving kick in the pants, or just some loving encouraging words, should go see her live. And what was great was that she was very personable and humble. I can't wait to go to another show of hers!
I had the great pleasure of experiencing the Hustle Diva at the Peace & Love Concert in Oakland a few weeks ago. She truly MOVED me! From her first word to her last, I was impacted by the power of her message and the purity of her heart vibration. By the time she finished, I know I been changed. Hustle is one of the most genuine, down-to-earth, awesome talents I've witnessed. I look forward to the next occasion!
When I think of Charlene "Hustle diva Green" Green and the myriad of work she does..I'm at a lost for words. I know that I find her poetic work to be some of the very best I have ever heard. Her writing puts you exactly in the scenario she created and as you read, you feel the gravity of the moment as if you were there. The motivational work she does is actually her natural state of being as she is always looking for ways to wake up the best in each person she works with and the groups she has been invited to inspire. She is down to earth and very talented. Her work will make you laugh, cry and above all think. I highly recommend you add her poetic or motivational gifts to your next event and give your guest a treat. You can also be assured that your written communications will have the impact you intended for it when utilizing Ms. Green's editing services which is a flawless final polish for what you want to say whether public or private.
Hustle Diva is a very punctual poet with a multitude of style and presentation. Her delivery is in your face, and she ain't pullin' punches; Hustle Diva is hard hitting. She speaks with a certain kind of confidence that can inspire and empower yet, she is also sharp enough where that same talent can viciously devour candied competitors, if needed. Her stories, often thought provoking and written so vividly, are so 3rd dimensional at times, I have dubbed them, "Lyricals so vivid, they are Visual." - PACCMANN
An Evening to Remember..
Her "full and mellow" voice held the Peace Officers captive as she recited Live Poetry [her own creation].
Hustle Diva's performance is a marvelous aesthetic for people who think poetry is too boring.

I am Guitarist and Music Producer that has worked with "Hustle Diva" on several occasions both live and in the studio. One occassin I can think of in particular is Marina Del Rey at the Warehouse. We started the 1st song which I was supposed to play acoustic guitar behind her while she did one of her fantastic pieces....as I started the song on the guitar I noticed my guitar was really, really out of tune and stopped the song abruptly. Charlene "Hustle Diva" Green professionally filled the space while I tuned the guitar with out missing a beat. She entertained the people and kept her composure. When finally got started she flawless delivered her show and was big crowed pleaser. I have also recorded with her and she always does it in one take which is such a joy in a studio where people do multiple takes and many edits what "Hustle Diva" does over and over in one or two takes.
I have worked with countless Singers and Poets and she is without a doubt the most prepared and professional Artist I have encountered.
I would recommend her for any occasion where you want to guarantee the entertainment will be top quality and on point!

Charlene Elizabeth Green (aka Hustle Diva) is a northern California native who has been writing since very early childhood, penning short stories and poetry, but never thinking of it as more than a hobby. Her first major writing project was a movie screenplay written in 1999 titled Love's Train, which was based on her short story "A Valentine's Day to Remember," written in junior college. She taught herself the scriptwriting craft, and while working a full-time job with the California Dept. of Corrections (at the time) she completed the project in just over a month. Until that point, her passion for writing had lain dormant for years; but after completing her script, she realized it had always been her calling. Though originally set on an acting career for many years, and having studied at the world-famous Shelton Studios in San Francisco in 1995, the written word ultimately captured her heart.
In 2001, while [still] in the process of searching for a producer for her movie, she began working on her first novel, One Man's Treasure. With aspirations to be immersed in the entertainment and literary industries, she made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles, and did so in 2003. After completing her novel, she connected with publisher, author, and philanthropist Dr. Rosie Milligan, whom she sought out for agency representation. Dr. Milligan liked One Man's Treasure so much that she immediately took her on as a client. During that time, their relationship grew, and Charlene developed an interest in editing and proofreading. In 2005, she began an internship working as a copy editor and proofreader for Dr. Milligan. Her first major [joint] editing project was rapper/producer Dr. Dre's mother Verna Griffin's autobiography titled Privileged to Live. She further interned for literary agent and best-selling author Dr. Maxine Thompson as a copy editor and story editor. In 2006, she started her own editing and consulting business, Punctuality Editing Service (now Charlene E. Green's Literary Services).
In May 2007, after several years attempting to have her novel published mainstream, Charlene took matters into her own hands and self-published One Man's Treasure through Milligan Books. Then, as fate would have it, in December 2007, she was presented with the opportunity to have OMT picked up mainstream, and in January 2008 was offered a two-book deal with Kensington Publishing. One Man's Treasure was released internationally on April 1, 2009, and the sequel, And They'll Come Home, was released on March 2, 2010. The third novel in the series, Aftershock, is in production.
Since moving to L.A., Charlene has revisited her talent for writing poetry, and expanded her collection of works. Though she dabbled briefly in the open-mic scene in 2004/2005, she decided to step away and spend more time writing and honing her skills. In April 2008, she was bitten hard by the open-mic bug when she entered a spoken-word contest at the annual Black Writers on Tour convention, not having done any open mic in over three years, and took fourth place after having competed with more than 20 poets, many of them veterans in the realm. From there, she bombarded the open-mic venues with fervor, adding spoken-word artist to her list of talents. Charlene has been known to frequent the local Los Angeles poetry venues up to five nights a week, inspiring hundreds with her unique words. She has also hosted events as well as performed in many shows and done speaking engagements after having been seen and approached by some of those whose lives she has touched. To date, she has more than 60 poems from her extensive portfolio memorized. She is known on the poetry scene as Hustle Diva.
Charlene is also a gifted motivational speaker and spiritual consultant who has been praised for her ability to encourage people to pursue avenues in their lives they were otherwise daunted by the thought of doing, by helping them see the ways in which they can proceed without feeling overwhelmed. Her Life Challenge and Life Mission Consultation services, as well as her spiritually themed and tailored poetry workshop, Poetic Breakdown, are the basis for her spiritual work.
Charlene is also still pursuing the long-awaited production of her movie, Love's Train, as well as seeking opportunities to turn both of her novels into movies.
All I really need is the mic, moderate lighting, and the audience. If I'm selling merchandise, then I'll need a table.
Varies. If certain poems are requested, those will be performed. If not, a standard set list would be "Self-Construction," "Homage," "Misinformed (If the Shoe Fits)," and "Zookeeper."
