About
My love for Music Started from Childhood.
I grew up in Montego Bay Jamaica in the late 70s, 80s and 90s.
Listening to Radio Stations Like RJR, Fame FM, JBC Fm Stereo and Irie Fm.
So, this was Actually Multiple Genres of Music like Reggae, Dancehall, RnB, Disco, Pop, Soca and Others. It was just the Environment where you could not Escape Music. Even While Playing Soccer there were always Sound Systems Playing in our Neighborhood.
As a young boy in the 80s, I made my first Music Collection by Taping my Favorite Songs from the Radio on Cassetts. During that Time, I got Really Fascinated by the Sound of the Bass Lines in every Song.
In my Late Teens I got my First Job and I Purchased my First Stereo Set with a Vinyl Record Player. Then Started my Vinyl Collection of LPs and 45s.
In 1993 I moved to Negril to Work in Hotel and Resort.
The Town was Steaming with Reggae Bands almost every Night of the Week.
I got Acquainted with some of the Musicians especially the Bass Players.
I Learned from some of the best Reggae Musicians in the World.
Then I Started Performing at the Hotel's (Swept Away Resort) Staff and Guest Show every Week. I Continued to Practice the Bass Guitar Every day.
In 1999 I moved to Queens New York as a Reggae Bass Player. In 2001 I Met Ras T, a Jamaican Reggae Singer with a Rehearsal Studio in Jamaica Queens New York. From that Point I was Introduced to a lot of other Reggae Musicians and Singers.
I Became a Gigging Bass Player for a Number of Years for these Reggae Bands. Ras T and the Beating Hearts. Jojo Romero and the Night Shift. Bobo General and the Vintage Band and Patrick and the Unlimited Force Band.
In 2014 I Started Ifrolix Band and Started Promoting our own Shows at the Edge Lounge in Queens New York. One of the Shows that we did was with Jamaican Reggae Great Singer Chuck Turner.
Jack Radics hired the Ifrolix Band in 2016 to do a Live Video Shooting of his New Song "Love Is" in Manhattan NY. We also did Several Private and Public Gigs in the New York Tri-State Area.
I Moved to South Florida from New York in 2017. In about three Months the Band was up and running again. We got our first Gig at the Shinespot Bar in Fort Lauderdale. Reggae Singer Grindsman was in the House, and he performed a Great Segment with us.
The word got around quickly that there was a new Reggae Band in Town.
Mac, a Local Promoter hired us to Perform every Friday Night at GOA Lounge Poolside at the Plantation Inn.
In 2018 the Ifrolix Band won the Resident Band Position at Shuckers Bar and Grill in North Miami after a Five Band Audition. Our Global Live Stream Reggae Band Started in 2020, Live from the Ifrolix Studio in Pompano Beach Florida. During this time the Band took four Road Trips down to the Island Grill Restaurant in Islamorada. This Full Moon Beach Party was sold out on the Fourth Month.
We also did quite a few other Private Reggae Parties in Miami, Delray Beach, Dania Beach and other South Florida Locations. Including The Father's Day Link up Reggae Show in Port St. Lucie, FL. with Everton Blender, Admiral Tibet, Hopeton Lindo and Others.
The Ifrolix Event Space Started in 2023. A Private and Public Event Venue in Pompano Beach FL. Rental Price Includes Tables, Chairs, Cushions, Charger Plates, Napkins, Chafers, Skirtings and More.
