Community-focused, Sheila is a member of Cosmopolitan International, a service club that raises money for diabetes education and research. Prior to this, she held the office as the Vice President of Marketing for three years. She served on the Cosmopolitan Diabetes Foundation Board in 2015 and 2016. She currently serves on the Adult Advisory Board for the non-profit, Simon Says Give. Sheila is a member of Sales & Marketing Executives (SME) of Sioux Falls.

Sheila was named first runner-up in the 2012 Mrs. South Dakota-America pageant and has mentored pageant contestants and served as a judge.
