Impande Ye Africa

Impande Ye Africa, which means “The Root of Africa”, is a production and performing arts company founded in 2012 by South African born Thandi Hicks. Impande Ye Africa presents authentic African cultural performing arts theatre. Based in Houston, Texas, the company strives to preserve the history and traditions of the continent of Africa, captivating the Southern African (link hidden)e company uses activities and cultural programs to educate and entertain in schools, colleges, libraries, community centers, theaters, corporate events and festivals. The company performs in authentic costumes and utilizes indeginous props that represent different tribes of southern Africa.
The “Safari Concert” is one of Impande’s touring programs that highlights the beauty of African culture; captivating one of the most famous tribal dances the “Zulu Warrior” from the Zulu tribe and the gumboot dance from the mine-workers of South Africa. This program is replete with highly energetic dances; celebratory folk songs and games of Africa.
The "Safari Concert" promises to entertain, educate, and most of all, the jubilant audience participation (on and off-stage) will leave your audience with an unforgettable experience.
This program can be booked as a 60 minute show with no intermission or as a 90 minute concert with intermission. Impande also offers Master Classes, Drumming and Dance Workshops for an extra fee.
Other packages are available in segments of 15, 30, or 45 minutes of short performances.

Note: The minimum fees shown below are for local performances not more than 49 miles to the performance. Out of town and out of state fees are based on the negotiated program (including number of artists) and travel distance.

Impande Ye Africa is on the Touring Roster of the Texas Commission on the Arts. Thus, the company tours trhoughout Texas, the southswestern states and nationally through Mid-America Arts Alliance and other State funded granting agencies. International travel requires a minimum a 90 day period of completed negotiations. Traveling and accommodation expenses are not included in the performance fee.

Our auxiliary services include:

1. Face and Body Painting provided by ABC Bodyart artist Mukomi Bandele

2. African Dance and/or Drumming Workshops size 25-500 people (schools and corporate events)

4. Gumboot Workshop size 25-500 people (school and corporate events)

Our fees for out of state performance are as follows:

1st option :( Based on one night stay)

• Per 6 artists performing $3,600 (30min)
• Booking fee $150.00
• Total company package cost $3,750
• 60 min $4,200
