In a Tizzy is the solo project of singer-actress Theresa Layne. In a Tizzy’s sound mixes elements of classic rock, folk, and pop like Sara Bareilles, KT Tunstall, and Dusty Springfield with guitar arrangements and vocals that accentuate storytelling. Theresa has a background performing in theater, making her a master at live performance, audience connection, and storytelling. She is a positive force of joyful energy that exudes from her soul. After spending many years performing across the Southwest in professional theaters, films, TV, and national commercials, she has returned to her one true passion, performing live as a solo artist.

“When I was a kid I’d create productions for our neighbors and friends. I had a regular vaudeville variety show. And somewhere along the way, it became obvious to me that I would keep doing it my whole life.”
Theresa earned a BFA in Musical Theater at the United States International University and an MFA in Acting at the University of Arizona. While attending university, she began performing in professional theaters throughout the Southwest Region: The Old Globe, Moonlight Amphitheater, North Coast Rep, New Village Arts, Arizona Rep, Civic Light Opera SBC and the Colony Studio Theatre.
She moved to LA and became a member of the Colony Studio Theatre Acting Company and worked in commercials, voice overs, TV and film. RESUME
Throughout her performing career, Theresa has taught theater and film at College of the Canyons and MiraCosta College. Recently, she directed the musical “Forever Dusty” at the California State University, San Marcos.
Theresa began studying and playing the drums and guitar as a hobby, which soon grew into performing as a musician in several bands, trios, duos and solo: Albright and the Educators, Innuendo, Stan Lin Band, Go Scarlet, In a Tizzy, and Hot Tina.
I can provide a sound system for a large or small venue setting. You need to provide lighting and power.
