Hello, I'm Dave, one of the singer/songwriters for In Lieu Of Flowers, a 6-piece original Americana band. I understand your need for a successful event with zero drama and 100% reliability so I encourage you to consider hiring us as we bring a vintage-rootsy feel to every event - whether it's in a barn or on the beach. We get raving testimonials from attendees all the time so you can sit back and enjoy your event while we entertain. You won't be disappointed, trust the flowers! ;)
We hired In Lieu of Flowers for our Harvest Festival and they did not disappoint! We had many attendees comment on how much they enjoyed the music. Dave was wonderful to deal with, and we would hire them again in a heartbeat! We plan on having them back for our festival again next year. Highly recommended!

Thanks, Jessica, we'd be honored to come back!!!
I was so impressed by their professionalism during the booking and set up process. Most important, my guests and I were blown away by their musicianship. They played a mix of covers (see their list of influences) and their own songs and it was all fantastic. Everyone was raving. Thank you, Dave and the crew!

In Lieu Of Flowers is a 6-piece original Americana band hailing from the dusty trails of Rhode Island and the rugged plains of Massachusetts.
We got a hankerin' for the vintage!, mixin' the sweet tones of mandolin, violin, accordion, banjo, and irish bouzouki with the old-timey twang of the telecaster, the gretsch guitar and the ambient lap steel. topping it all off, we lay down these plucked strings over the heartbeat of a rhythm section provided by the sound of bass and drums.
our melodies paint a picture of the american landscape both old and new, rich and vibrant like the sunsets over new england. and when it comes to lyrics, it's story time!, we also pour our hearts out in harmonies high and lonesome, that'll make your soul stir.
so if you're lookin' for a sound that's as timeless as the frontier but modern as a broken heart, give us a
