Hello! My name is Galen and I love to play sitar for a myriad of events. I have been studying this mesmerizing music for 15 years, half of that time in New Delhi. The depth, storytelling, playfulness, and spirituality of this music is a great way to bring a unique atmosphere of connection and meaning to your wedding, private party, or artistic collaboration. I look forward to working together. :)
Lovely performance. Played wonderfully and served as background music to our party’s conversation. Should have booked for a longer time.
Galen was great at our baby shower. All the guests raved about him. Would highly recommend

Hello and welcome to my Gigsalad profile! Ever since I flew to India in 2009 I have been deeply motivated and engaged by the study of hindustani music. New Delhi would be my home until 2017 at which point I moved back home to New York City where I am an active part of the music scene. The time and energy I have spent exploring this music authentically has paid off in a profound understanding of raga and an ability to bring depth and beauty to my performances.
I regularly perform hindustani classical, collaborations with middle eastern artists and in my trio of all original music, Compass Trio. I have had the privilege of performing at such prestigious venues as SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center), legendary folk venue Caffe Lena, The Center for Remembering and Sharing (CRS), Chhandayan Center for Indian Music, and Pioneer Works amongst others. He has worked with The Pittsburgh Opera, Brooklyn Raga Massive, Ollom Art Dance Company, The Silk Road Project’s GMW, and Korean Piri master, Gamin Kang I work with venues, organizations, and bring my music to weddings and private events.
I am grateful to have so many opportunities to bring my music to some of the most meaningful days of others' lives. I look forward to meeting you! You can learn more about me at (link hidden) and (link hidden)
