My mission is to showcase the seasonal bounty of PNW farmers by masterfully creating culinary experiences while cultivating a connection between farm and family. I create customized menus for two to 30 guest parties, all while working within your budget and personal preferences and requests.
Rachel was great to work with and very professional. She was very responsive with emails and accommodating with menu planning prior to the event. She was flexible with timing, even up until the day before our event! The food was absolutely amazing and there was more than enough for seconds and thirds! It was overall an excellent experience and a huge luxury for our large group! I would absolutely recommend Rachel as a personal chef.
We had a reunion in the Smoky Mountains and had Rachel come in and cook our meals. It was a smart move. The food was excellent.
I hired BMDA to handles meal needs for my group of 12 for 2 days. They stayed at the rental property with us and prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Rachel was very flexible with me when creating the menus and timing of the meals. Their demeanor and easy personalities made us feel as though they were part of our group. Their professionalism of keeping meals on time without having to be pushy was great, and again, the food was phenomenal, locally sourced, and very fresh.
I can't stress enough how happy my group was that no one had to shop, cook, clean, or put away dishes. This freed up so much time for my guests to really enjoy the time we had together. That value alone was enough to pay for Rachel and Cody's services, but the pricing we received from them was very very fair for what they delivered.
Rachel and her partner orchestrated an amazing private dinner experience! She was wonderful to work with prior to the event. The menu selections were great. The food the night of the evening was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere truly perfect! Thanks Rachel for a memorable experience!

We were fortunate to discover Rachel Arenas with Bake My Day and hired her to cater our wedding reception. She thoughtfully personalized a menu for the guests that would attend and met with us to discuss details in advance. The meal that she and her team provided on the day was fresh, flavorful, locally sourced, and, honestly, one of the best meals that we've had. Rachel is professional, efficient, works to meet everyone's needs and, on top of that, is a quality person. Our guests are still talking about how impressed they were with the food that she provided. We highly suggest Rachel if you want quality catering for your event.
We were recently celebrating my husband's 40th in Asheville with some family and friends and had Rachel and her partner come over one evening to cook for us. From the very first time I contacted her she was very responsive, communicative, gave us menu options and reasonable prices. We ended up having an amazing four course dinner that everyone in our group raved about! She even set the table, lit candles and brought flowers. Not to mention, the food was outstanding!! We had an overall great experience and would definitely hire her again.
Bake My Day cooked all of the meals for our wellness retreat in Asheville. We provided them with ingredient guidelines and they created the entire wellness menu! They were on schedule (which is challenging on retreat), the food was tasty and savory, and they were so incredibly pleasant to work with. I'd recommend them for anyone looking for chefs in the Asheville area! I'm still dreaming about their homemade salad dressing mmmmm.
Our family can't say enough about Rachel! She creates the kind of delicious local food experience you hope for when you come to Western North Carolina. She's cooked a number of meals for our family. From the lovely spiced lamb and lentils to the tender roasted chicken and kale salad. (kids now love kale - thank you!!) And then there are the desserts, cookies and more that melt in the mouth. (seriously thinking about renewing our vows - for one of her cakes)
Rachel is a talented chef who is connected to the local farmer's market - and it shows. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, extremely professional at all times, and really worked with our entire family to achieve the perfect menu. Each dish was better than the next - amazing quality and gorgeous presentation. I highly recommend Rachel for destination weddings, parties and events - and for locals, that special brunch/lunch/dinner you've been thinking and talking about for years.

Originally hailing from (link hidden)tersburg, FL Rachel moved to Asheville, NC to complete her degree in psychology. During those pivotal years, she discovered her passion for culinary arts which had until then been limited to yearly Christmas cookie tins. Upon graduation from culinary school and for the next six years Rachel developed an extensive background in both culinary and pastry arts, working in some of Asheville's finest restaurants, doing everything from banquets to wedding cakes to plated desserts. Over the past three years she quickly built her own personal chef business in Asheville but decided to move to Oregon for a change of scenery. Currently, Rachel is focusing on local food sustainability and security by working at the Portland Farmer's Market, developing her relationship with farmers while connecting families with locally sourced food through her current business, Indigo Rose PDX.
I require a full kitchen available before during and after an event. I bring almost everything I should need to prepare the meal but will need access to prep areas with a sink, a stove and range.
