Intrinsic is Asheville based producer, dj and fire spinner Jesse Spainhour.
His music blurs the lines between many genres, juxtaposing a range of tempo, styles, textures and structures all fused by an inherent melodic element.
Live he uses a variety of interfaces such as wii remotes, joysticks, p5 gloves, and midi controllers to trigger and warp the sounds – dancing to and thereby creating the modulations within – a rich and intricate soundscape.
As a fire spinner, he specializes in poi, double staves and stilt walking.
Over the past 10 years he has mesmerized audiences throughout the Southeast, while working with Unifire Theatre, Pangea Productions, Skew Records & Wondrous Temple of Boom.
I have worked closely with and have observed Jesse Spainhour in the act as a professional and the words "blown away" can't even describe the level this guy's actually on. I have told him time and time again that he could take his act to Vegas but for one reason or another he's got his heels dug in here in Asheville;~).
My fiance was so impressed with his team that she has asked me to hire Intrinsic to come in and perform at our wedding in September. There is not a doubt in my mind that Jesse will help to make this a wedding to remember.

Jesse Spainhour was absolutely incredible. He was organized, friendly, and professional. He organized an entire show for our event that included fire, stilts, aerialists, and contortionists. The performances were wonderfully joyful and entertaining. I had so much feedback from the guests about how much they loved the event.
