Jack was born and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh in southwestern Pennsylvania. He began playing the guitar at the age of 8. He was exposed to many different style of music while growing up. By the age of 15 he began playing in bands, performing at school dances and community functions. At age 16, he started performing at local nightclubs in the Pittsburgh area. In the early stages of his development, Jack played musical styles ranging from 50's Doo Wop to Rhythm and Blues to Soul to Funk to 60's and 70's Rock to Blues. During the 80's, he did a lot of work with Show bands, performing at many of the gambling resorts and show bars throughout the United States and Canada,
Today Jack enjoys performing Jazz and Standards from the American Song Book. He also enjoys Latin and Brazilian music, as well. Some of Jacks early influences were Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and of course Jimmy Hendricks. This is to mention just a few from the rock genre. While Jack enjoys many styles of music, he also enjoys playing Jazz. Some of his favorites again just to mention a few were and still are, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Lee Ritenour, and Larry Carlton.
Jack, like many budding guitarist of that era, learned to play by listening to records and going to jam sessions and exchanging ideas and concepts with other musicians. Jack also had some formal training. When he was in his early teens, he studied with H. Russell Truitt. Later in life, when Jack became interested in playing solo guitar, he studied with Jimmy Ponder. Jack has recently relocated to Panama City Beach Florida and is looking to establish himself as a solo guitarist, and accompanist, and a band member doing group work.
