I first saw Jaik in February 2016 when he opened for one of my favorite bands. Not knowing what to expect from his set I went in with an open mind. To my surprise his sound was so different and unique that it had my attention the entire time. I would put his music in the likes of musicians like John Mayer. Since then I have caught a few sets that he has played around town and am never disappointed. His lyrics are heartfelt and his talent is undeniable!! Jaik represents the city of San Antonio very well by showcasing that there is raw talent out there not just in LA and NYC. What a breath of fresh air listening to a stripped down set.
Jaik Yanez' s music is reminiscent of singers like Noah Gundersen with a gravelly voice like that of John Mayer. His lyrics are not only profound, they are often witty and moving. I have personally witnessed his ability to command a space and awe an audience into an appreciative silence.
I saw Jaik Yanez last year at the 502 bar when I was visiting Texas from California, he was opening at Jonny Gray's pre-CD release party. I was very impressed with his music and song writing, he put on a great performance! I would definitely go see him again!
Jaik will pull you in, sing to you and make you feel like you've known him your whole life within the first verse of just about anything he sings. One truly talented songwriter. I bring a large variety of cover songs ranging from Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, and even Hip Hop. I am known for my mash-ups such as "Meet Virginia" (Train)/"Remix to Ignition" (R. Kelly), "Any Way You Want It" (Journey)/"Swing Swing" (All-American Rejects) and my re-imaginings of songs such as "Crazy" (Gnarls Barkley) and "Wagon Wheel" (Old Crow Medicine Show).
I perform songs that I feel fit my unique voice and give the audience a show full of songs that they maybe don't hear as often. It is my aim to delight and inspire audiences.
I also have a large collection of Original songs that I like to play here and there that I know your audience will enjoy. I am very highly rated from all of the establishments I've played and my popularity has been growing steadily since I began this performing endeavor.
I do not require much room, a minimal amount of power, and I can play at any volume that you need me to. I am here to enhance your event, not take it over.
Monitors are always appreciated but not necessary if not readily available. It is always preferable to have some lighting on me but it is not required.
I do require at least a 400 Watt PA speaker for most rooms, I can provide my own equipment for shows within 100 miles but you will need to provide the required equipment if you are out of that range.
Overall, I am a plug and play musician, no pedals, no effects, just me and my guitar guaranteed to win your audience over.
