As an entertainer, music artist, songwriter, and vocal coach, Jakeya has over 30 years of successful music experience. As a Philadelphia native, Jakeya was always surrounded by music, when her parents discovered her gifts they ensured that she received the best education to cultivate her talent.
Today, as an Alternative Soul Indie artist, Jakeya is pushing boundaries and enjoys the freedom in music and performance. She has the ability to connect to any audience, as she presents love, acceptance, and a musical freedom that is limitless. Jakeya has graced audiences from around the world including the United States, several places in Europe; including Italy, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland, just to name a few, and even parts of the caribbean. Jakeya has worked with the likes of Dorinda Clark-Cole, Patti Labelle, Idris Elba, Kim Burrell, Aloe Blacc and Jazmine Sullivan.
Jakeya's love for music grew and grew, and she felt that she wanted to be more impactful with her gifts and talents. As her education of music evolved, Jakeya went on to start teaching and mentoring individuals on vocal music education. After having her first vocal student in 2008, Jakeya became known as a vocal coach and mentor in the Philadelphia area. Shortly after that, Jakeya's mentoring and performing business was developed, entitled Jakeya Limitless Music LLC. Since then, Jakeya has taught over 800 artists and individuals, nationally and internationally, teaching private and group lessons. In 2018, Jakeya became the vocal coach for Philadelphia’s own Jazmine Sullivan, and many other notable artists.
