In addition, he is a very good performer and was able to handle an event where the group was oriented to socializing- a very difficult thing for a great musician to do. He was friendly, a pleasure to work with, was set up ahead of schedule, and played continuously for the full scheduled time. During the event, numerous people came up to me and asked "Where did you find him? He is great!" James really set the tone for a lovely experience. He also has a wonderful and flexible repertoire.

Spending a number of years touring his original music across the US and Canada, Lanman has been fortunate to grace intimate stages at famed venues from the The Rockwood Music Hall in New York City to larger venues like the Fargodome in North Dakota. Lanman has also performed a number of high profile private events, weddings and corporate events with top event planners of the San Francisco Bay Area.
He has been featured in festivals from SXSW to CMJ, performed originals and covers backed by The Seattle Rock Orchestra in the Moore Theater and starred in a Scandinavian insurance commercial generating a sizable following across the Atlantic. The commercial was so popular it prompted the release of a single where Lanman covered Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry About a Thing”.
Lanman’s vocal style is often compared to artists such as Michael Bublé, James Taylor and Chet Baker.
