Hey gig world! I'm a skilled, spirited college musician with experience playing for weddings, parties, and other events, often in an ensemble I put together and manage. I'm capable of arranging requested music for the given ensemble, something I work hard at and really enjoy. Violin is my primary instrument, but I am also accomplished at guitar. I play solo and ensemble music with considerable flexibility in style, though I mostly play classical. I'm a nice guy too, and I love working with and playing for others.
-A recent client lauded my “skill and flexibility. Despite the unexpected downpour during the beginning of the wedding, Jamie’s professionalism and poise continued to impress us.”
Jamie was a professional from the moment I first started contact with him, very responsive to all of my requests and was very accommodating! He ended up learning a new song and working with my DJ to make my dream become a reality!
Response from Jamie Cook:
Thanks Shannon! Very happy you enjoyed. Take care!
Jamie was great to work with! His music was beautiful and just what we had hoped for our ceremony.
Response from Jamie Cook:
Thanks Haley! It was a pleasure playing for you all.
thank you for making our day special! Sorry the weather was so crazy 😐
Jamie provided great support for our small wedding. He was easy to work with before and during the wedding. We would recommend him without reservation.
Response from Jamie Cook:
Thanks Kent! Best wishes to you and your wife!
Jamie was the epitome of professional support throughout the duration of planning, preparation, and execution. He went out of his way to accommodate our playlist (including a wide range of music; classical, pop rock, and metal!) Our vow renewal was flawless; everyone commented on how polished and rehearsed our duo performed. Even including an impromptu song for my husband and officiant’s walk out! Highest recommendation, would absolutely work with again!
Jamie Cook is a talented violinist and a very polite, friendly young man. I enjoyed meeting him and hearing him play!
Response from Jamie Cook:
Thank you Dean! Nice meeting you all!
It was an Awesome performance!! Jamie Cook was magnificent! He was cordial, prompt and patient! I would love to have him come again. Wonderful!
Jamie played at my wedding with a friend and colleague (see Huxleyan Parilla). The string duet was absolutely fabulous! The pair worked with me on my very tight budget. From the very beginning they were professional and flexible! They played during the processional and cocktail hour and were able to masterfully play my wide variety of requested songs. I asked for Bach to The Beach Boys all the way to Taylor Swift, just to name a few. Jamie played multiple instruments and my guests commented on how lovely the entertainment was! I would highly recommend Jamie as he was talented, professional and incredibly easy to work with! Made my wedding even better.
Price Range: $50-500, depending on the gig.

I am a college musician studying at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, one of the top music schools in the country. I have experience playing for weddings, parties, and other events. I can play on my own, but I also organize and play in ensembles, including but not limited to violin/piano and string chamber groups. My primary instrument is violin, but I am also accomplished at guitar.
I am capable of arranging requested music to fit a certain ensemble (although this isn't always possible or ideal!). I can do this given the piece's name, recording(s), and any specific requests. This can come in handy since what is desired isn't always available in sheet music for the particular lineup.
I'm an enthusiastic worker, a fast learner, and a passionate player.

Generally, I can quickly learn specific pieces or collections of chamber music, and I have or can acquire such collections. I also have larger classical pieces for solo violin or violin and piano.
