We wanted classical guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding. Jarrett was very responsive to our questions, and thankfully was available for our ceremony. He has an extensive catalogue of music, from classical, to Spanish, to contemporary. I even saw a few showtunes. He arrived early to the ceremony, and was very professional. The music was well played, and well received by our guests. Overall, I recommend Jarrett.

Jarrett did an excellent job providing classical guitar music for our wedding ceremony. In the lead up to the wedding, he was responsive and guided us to make sure we gave him the information he needed, and his repertoire had a lot of variety to choose from. Jarrett’s playing was beautiful and really elevated our ceremony. Our pre-ceremony music selection didn’t end up being long enough for the amount of time it took before we got started, and Jarrett filled the extra space with another piece from his repertoire, which we appreciated.

Jarrett provided wonderful classical guitar during our wedding ceremony and was an ease to work with! He came with a wide-ranging repertoire, making it easy to select songs which did well to set the tone of our day. No trouble at all hearing the music outside, and we each had several guests tell us how much they appreciated having Jarrett’s music as part of the ceremony.

Jarrett performed at our global organization's corporate social evening/dinner at the Lincoln Cottage. We started with a lively cocktail hour on the ground floor and then dinner background music upstairs, where Jarrett was positioned near the Emancipation room. Jarrett Laskey provided moderately amplified elegant classical guitar music for my daughter & son-in-laws baby shower. (Latin/Spanish music & modern arrangements & a variety of different types of music. His music was beautiful & soothing while guests mingled with friends & family in a relaxing atmosphere on an outdoor patio with some surrounding trees. I hosted the baby shower event & guests had such positive reactions to his BEAUTIFUL music and his selections. We are so glad he performed so beautifully!!!

I hired Jarrett to play for my dad at his retirement home after hearing his music samples. Originally I was thinking it would be just for my dad, but then decided to open it up to the entire facility knowing that his music would make everyone’s day. Between working around COVID cancellations and coordinating with numerous people, Jarrett was extremely flexible and accommodating. His response time was really quick every time making it easy to lock in a date that worked for my family and the facility. Having Jarrett play at my sisters wedding was an absolute pleasure. The way Jarrett played the guitar really set the perfect atmosphere for the evening while celebrating love, family and togetherness. Jarrett performed for our son's wedding in September 2020. I selected him because of the outstanding quality and sensitivity of his playing from the recordings on his website. We had a very short planning time and we really appreciated his responsiveness. We had hoped for an outside ceremony because of the pandemic, but very last minute we had to change to the inside option. Jarrett was extremely flexible.

Excellent musician. His background music was perfect for the private Sunday lunch birthday celebration I had planned, where it was important for my guests to easily converse around the music he played. He picked the perfect musical tempo for my gathering, and since my event did not require an upbeat tempo, I was pleased. I also was pleased with the genre of songs he introduced; each song captured the age and interests of my guests. I only had 22 guests, so my per person expense for music was a bit high. However, Jarrett's performance certainly added a polish to my private restaurant party!

We wanted a specific, solo guitarist for our wedding. One with a strong enough repertoire of spanish/flamenco, along with some acoustic versions of contemporary songs. Jarrett was perfect. We went to see him perform at one of his gigs before hiring him, and knew he would be great.
We wanted light and airy as people arrived, classical suggestions for the ceremony, spanish guitar for the cocktail hour, and acoustic contemporary for the first half of dinner. He was open to suggestions, provided some of his own, and in the end, we were quite pleased.
He hit the contemporary songs that we knew would go over well with our parents (Beatles) and nice renditions of Dave Matthews, John Legend, among others. It was a great way to have him continue through dinner, up until the toasts, which allowed us to transition from guitarist to DJ Dave Grimm of Signature Talent.
Jarrett coincidentally had previously worked with our officiant and DJ so we knew all would flow well.

Jarrett arrived early, appeared professionally dressed, and was very self-sufficient in setting himself up at the Westin ballroom. This was a business holiday party, and everyone enjoyed the music. I will gladly hire Jarrett again. And, I have given his contact information to two of my partners who may have need for him at personal events.

Jarrett is a lovely guitar player, and nice guy.

I hired him however to accompany me to sing at a memorial of a dear friend. For the cost, I expected he would have been better prepared, and had really took the time to learn the song, and study the style. With it being such an emotional day, I was willing to spend top dollar for a professional. I am disappointed today, with an ok performance as I sang through several incorrect chord progressions, and little effort to capture the musicality and feel for the piece. In the rehearsal, it seemed to me that he had not looked at the piece with the pages out of order.

I would most definitely hire him to play a repertoire he already knows. In the ten minutes he played as folks were entering, his music provided a warm entrance for family and friends. He's kind, easy to work with, just did not seem terribly prepared for this particular event.

Jarrett provided the perfect music for our cocktail party. I received lots of rave reviews from our guests - it really helped make the event special.

Jarrett is the consummate professional and played throughout a 125+ person business dinner event at a level that was audible but allowed the attendees to easily converse. Jarrett Laskey was the musician for my wedding on 9/9/17 and he was perfect. Jarrett is very straightforward about what to expect and what he will do and working with him is very easy. Thing about Jarrett that is most special is that he was never something for me to worry about. Jarrett arrived on time and presents himself well. He played as my guests arrived, for the ceremony, and for a cocktail hour after the ceremony. He is very sensitive to what volume is appropriate and what songs are a good choice, but has a list of music you can choose from as well. With all of the vendors you will have on your wedding day, you owe it to yourself to make an easy decision to have Jarrett Laskey be your musician.

We booked Jarrett for our wedding and wedding reception. It was late notice (within 3 weeks of the wedding), but Jarrett was very accommodating and able to work with us. He learned new music to accommodate the preferences of our families and even took requests during the reception. He is an excellent guitarist and was very punctual and professional throughout the service and reception. I would highly recommend him for classical guitar music.

We hired Jarrett to play during the cocktail hour for my daughter’s wedding on Nov 12, 2016. Jarrett was very easy to work with, very responsive to emails. His music is beautiful and I even had some guests seek me out to comment on his playing. Our cocktail hour was in a barn and the temperature was quite chilly. Jarrett was extremely professional and played continuously in spite of the coldness. I have kept his contact information should I ever need to use him again and I would highly recommend him to others!!

My husband and I have been working with Jarrett Laskey for six months now. He played our wedding ceremony music on October 17, 2015 at Bristow Manor. I personally come from a musical background and heard his talent at an open house the manor held. His music is absolutely wonderful, we loved hearing him play on our special day. He did a vocal collaboration with my husband's cousin of John Legend's All of Me as I walked down the aisle. It made me feel so special, and everyone thought it was so beautiful.

My experience with Jarrett was fantastic. My mother and I booked a performance as a gift to my sister and her new husband at their wedding reception. It added just that perfect touch to have live music during the cocktail hour. We requested mainly classical guitar and it was perfect. Jarrett was also very easy/pleasant to work with and consistently responsive to questions and also flexible with timing of his performance.

I found Jarrett based on his reviews from multiple websites. After speaking with him I knew immediately that he was the person that I wanted. After booking him I was speaking to my fiance and mentioned Jarrett's name and it turns out that he had given guitar lessons to my fiance's late brother. Jarrett actually remembered him and even requested to play one of his favorite pieces while the guests were being seated. Jarrett's customer service and warm personality were extremely wonderful and never once did I doubt my decision. Jarrett also took the time to learn a new piece that I requested for our recessional. Mr. Laskey was absolutely perfect. He was a late breaking addition to our wedding plans but he jumped right in. His list was extensive and we were able to pick the exact songs we wanted - "A Story Book Love", "Pachelbel's Canon in D" and "Here Comes the Sun." We even had difficulties getting the wedding party started on time and Mr. Laskey flawlessly repeated the processional so that there was enough music. We were very pleased and I would strongly recommend him.

guitarist. On a friend's recommendation, we heard him play at his
regular gig at Marvelous Market by Eastern Market. It took only a few
strums to know that he would provide the perfect ambiance during our
wedding ceremony. Flexible, cordial, and professional, Jarrett
delivered a great repertoire of songs and helped to make our ceremony
memorable. Our experience with him was delightful and melodious from
start to finish - we recommend him in a heartbeat!

My husband and I hired Jarrett and Tom for our wedding this past October without ever seeing them in person before. We had heard their music from samples on the computer, but hearing them the day of our wedding did not even compare. First, let me say that even though Super Storm Sandy was heading our way, the still showed up on time looking very professional. Second, they were very kind and amenable to our song selections and took time to practice and learn them as they were not a part of their original song selection. Third, they sounded perfect. It was beautiful to have live music as a part of our wedding especially since the rain held off and we were able to have our ceremony outside like we'd hoped. We would without a doubt hire these guys again and normally I wouldn't suggest hiring anyone for a wedding or an event sight unseen, but if you're going to do it, make sure it's someone like Jarrett and Tom. I hired Jarrett to perform live guitar at my ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding this past weekend. He adjusted to music to the ceremony so that the music and ceremony were seamless. Prior to the wedding, I emailed him numerous times with questions, and he gave me great recommendations and samples of music so that I could put together a ceremony that fit us. I requested he play traditional Latin guitar (although he plays both classical and standard hits), which he did beautifully. My guests loved it. Hiring him was a great value and I would recommend him to anyone.
