Fusing Americana pop with the Caribbean beats of reggae, ska, and soul calypso, JaSkaMon (pronounced ja*ska*mon, refering to "spirit, music and humanity") is always promoting an upbeat dance party for your event. They appeal to a wide range of age groups, children through senior citizens. While leaning on singer-guitarist Barry Klusman's excellent pop songwriting skills the group also performs many great reggae cover tunes from artists like Bob Marley. They have a knack of taking classic pop songs like CCR's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" and Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" and combining them with the grooves the Caribbean is famous for. They also have a trivia contest with prizes.
JaSkaMon was perfect for our country party! Their reggae-infused tunes were easy to dance to and the band members were fun and easy-going. Shortly before they were scheduled to start playing, there was a local power outage but the band just flowed with it. We had a generator so they were still able to play. Ours was the only place for miles around that had lights and music! We would hire them again.
JaSkaMon was great! Barry and his crew really got the party started and we all had a fantastic time. Our guests kept commenting on how fun the band was and the chant "ONE MORE SONG!" happened several times- JaSkaMon was really accommodating to our guests who didn't want the good tunes to end. JaSkaMon also provided amplification equipment for our ceremony and speeches (both sounded great!). I would totally recommend JaSkaMon!
Response from JaSkaMon:
Much thanks to Stacie and Tom for the great review! For those who consider hiring us for their event, you will be pleased by the good feeling-up-beat grooves of our fusion style reggae. We often win people over who never danced to Caribbean rhythms before, perhaps because of the way we blend them with American pop. And we have a desire to make everything go as best as it can. In other words we will try to go out of our way to professionally give you a great show; so you can count on us!
