Poet, spoken word artist, mentor, and software developer Javon Rustin is a North Carolinian residing in Dallas, TX. Javon Rustin has been a National Poetry Slam semi-finalist for three years after making the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Dallas Slam Team. In 2016 he was ranked 17th top performance poet in the country based on the Individual World Poetry Slam. Along with his new CD entitled "Bleeding Spirits", Javon has been published in "Texas Slamthology: Volume One" as well as an erotic poetry collection called "Fingertip Foreplay". He enjoys intertwining stories into his performances and has a wide array of poetry sure to please any audience.
Javon accommodated our many revisions and met the complex topic. He performed it beautifully. He was many people's favorite part of the event, and we had live music and tap performers. (He was my favorite for sure and I danced for 12 years!)

Poet, spoken word artist, mentor, and software developer Javon Rustin is a North Carolinian residing in Dallas, TX. He graduated with a degree in computer science from North Carolina A&T in 2013, but has been writing poetry since the age of thirteen. He started writing in church and expanded to slam poetry competitions in college.
He moved to Dallas immediately after college and was blessed to find the Dallas Poetry Slam team. He made the team in 2015, 2016, 2017 and manage to become a national semi-finalist all three years. In 2016 he was ranked 17th top performance poet in the country based on the Individual World Poetry Slam.

When not on a stage, Javon Rustin is a teaching artist that provides workshops for adults and teens.
For poetry readings, speaking, or spoken word performances a microphone and mic stand would be preferred for most venues. This may not be needed in smaller settings.
