Jay is a very talented musician who got our 70 and 80 year old guests up and dancing! He has a beautiful voice and is an incredible piano player. He takes his business seriously. He called before hand to let me know exactly what time he would be there to set up. All around he was excellent, would highly recommend him.

Since 2009, Jay Daniels has offered hundreds of performances throughout the mid-Atlantic region. In a solo jazz concert setting, Jay offers a custom-tailored program for each venue. Typically these programs revolve around a topical theme (I.e. Sounds of Summer, 1964: Year in Review, Jersey Boys and Jersey Girls, etc.). During the concert, Jay not only brings his piano and vocal renditions of these cherished classics, but he shares special stories about the songs and the artists that made them popular. Jay also enjoys engaging his audience through Q&A and audience sing-alongs.
On occasion, Jay is also asked to serve as an instrumentalist for cocktail parties and other events. In these situations, Jay sets the mood for the evening with songs appropriate for a background music setting. The arrangements are tasteful and not overly embellished so as to provide a harmonious accompaniment for your next gathering. Varied genres are available including classic jazz and pop, adult contemporary, and other musical styles.
Whether in a concert or cocktail setting, Jay Daniels takes pride in working directly with you to ensure that appropriate music is supplied for your event. Special requests are welcomed.
For jazz pianist and vocalist Jay Daniels, music is something that runs in the family. Growing up, Jay first heard the sounds of music from his grandfather - a church organist for Jay’s home church in Mineral, Virginia. As the years progressed, Jay discovered the classic sounds of jazz artists like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller. Today, Jay continues that musical tradition through dozens of jazz performances in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. He continues in his grandfather’s footsteps while also serving as music director for a Presbyterian Church in South Jersey. Since 2017, Jay has been the host and executive producer of the globally syndicated jazz radio program, Simply Timeless.
At a minimum, a piano (upright, grand, or digital) is preferred at the venue. In addition, a basic sound system with microphone for vocal amplification is requested. If either of these items are not available, a digital Yamaha piano and Bose sound system can be provided by request.
