Looking for a Jazz Pianist for Entertainment in Raleigh, Chapel Hill, or Durham NC?
Daniel lives in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill NC area, and his performances at the North Carolina Governor’s Mansion and at the North Carolina State Chancellor’s residence surprised the local jazz pianist music critics with his youthful and energetic style.
Daniel studied piano jazz standards under internationally acclaimed Dr. Jason Foureman, and he also performs with the N.C. State Jazz Combo.
If you are looking for a special jazz piano soloist in North Carolina for your grand gala, private celebration, wedding, Christmas party, or dinner event you need look no further. He has pricing for every budget
Daniel was a joy to have at our event. He is a talented pianist. He was professional and attentive to our music selections. Praises to you Daniel for making my daughter's graduation celebration very special.
Daniel did a wonderful job with the ceremony music for our December wedding. He was recommended to us by the event coordinator at our venue and was very easy to communicate and plan with via email. He provided recommendations for common selections for each component of the ceremony but was also able to learn new pieces where we wanted them. I LOVED his modern version of bridal march for my entrance. Daniel was very professional and reasonably priced and we would absolutely recommend him for any event.
I know a large number of excellent pianists from my 14 years of singing and playing guitar in a variety of venues, and let me just say Daniel is one of the best pianists I know. I respect him as a fellow musician that can play a wide variety of styles and genres, but have always been wowed when he starts playing jazz. If you're looking for someone that can fill a room by themselves with either jazzed-up interpretations of hymns or some classic Sinatra/Nat King Cole/Sammy Davis Jr. standards, Daniel Salo's the man. Neither you or your guests will be disappointed. The guys a pro.
p.s. (He's a superb accompanist as well. We had him play jazz standards as people were being seated at our wedding. He accompanied me and a band during the wedding with a variety of songs, then he jumped back to jazz as people exited to our adjoined reception, and continued playing through the reception.)
Daniel played at our wedding in August 2015, and we were thrilled with his performance! During planning, he laid out a number of popular wedding songs that he already played, but was more than willing to learn anything that we might want. He ended up learning a couple of new songs, including one from my favorite band, the Avett Brothers. He was great leading up to the wedding- sending clips of the songs he was working on, showing up to rehearsal ready to play, coordinating with the DJ, etc.
All of this to say, Daniel is a true professional: his range of musical competency is impressive and his communication and preparation is beyond satisfactory. I highly recommend Daniel for any occasion!
When my regular pianist was unable to appear as scheduled, I hired Daniel to play piano for an evening performance with my band. He did a fantastic job for us, and I was impressed with both his playing talent and with his professionalism. He was punctual and polished, and I was thankful that he was responsive in his communication both prior to and then during the performance. He will do a terrific job for your event.
Daniel was a wonderful entertainer and provided our family with priceless memories. He accompanied my family as we sang for several pieces (not easy) and seamlessly played, even when we forgot lyrics and skipped inadvertently. He was magnificent! Would highly recommend his talent to anyone and he is exceptionally bright as well, 6/5 stars!!!
My wife and I could not have imagined a more perfect, capable, and dynamic piano player for our wedding!! I would recommend Daniel to anybody I know who is looking for a pianist for a wedding, or any other event.
We hired Daniel to play at our recent wedding in Durham, and it was one of the best wedding-planning decisions we made! His prices were some of the most competitive of any pianist in the area, and his talent and professionalism went beyond anything I expected. He was quick to respond to all my emails and answered my questions very thoroughly. He was enthusiastic and willing to do whatever we needed to make our day perfect. He did it all -- he played beautiful prelude music before the ceremony, he crafted a unique arrangement of a pop song that we used as our recessional, he impressed our guests with his large repertoire of jazz pieces during our cocktail hour, and he accompanied a friend of mine who sang a special song for my mother-son dance. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, he sent me several sound clips of what he was working on, and he was always open to suggestions. The end result was absolutely perfect! Daniel is one of the few wedding vendors I worked with who I can honestly say I would hire again in an instant. Please do yourself a favor and book him today!
Daniel recently played at our Annual Employee Christmas Luncheon at North Carolina Specialty Hospital. We couldn't have been more pleased with his performance! He arrived in plenty of time to get set up before the event, and even though the space was a bit cramped and the acoustics left a lot to be desired, he cheerfully "adapted" and provided great holiday jazz piano for our party. I have received many positive comments from the staff, who thoroughly enjoyed this treat. Daniel was very polite and graciously played individual requests in addition to his holiday repertoire. I would definitely consider hiring him for future events at our facility, and I gladly recommend him to others.
It was a pleasure to work with Daniel Salo. He provided music and vocals that certainly pleased the crowd at a recent reception. Daniel was prompt, professional (in dress and demeanor), considerate, and even worked with me on our sound system.
We hired Daniel to perform at our holiday dinner, he is an excellent pianist! He showed up early, very polite and friendly and even took special requests from the audience. Our clients raved about his performance. We look forward to having him play for us again! He was also great to work with when scheduling his performance date and time.

What a talented pianist & consummate professional! Daniel was communicative, prompt, friendly, and extremely talented. He was able to judge the crowd and play accordingly. Thanks for filling our museum with beautiful music!

Thank you so very much Jennifer for your kind words. I am always honored to play at the North Carolina Museum of Art! Taking time to write in a review is so nice of you, and I also appreciate the courtesy if you'd tell your business associates and friends if they're having an event.
Daniel performed for a dinner party in my home recently. He is a very accomplished pianist who plays with feeling and emotion beyond his years. Everything was extremely well-prepared and he brought his personality to his music. It was a pleasure to have Daniel in our home and we look forward to repeating this performance! (I especially loved the Gershwin!)

Hello Amber, thank you so very much for taking time to post this review. I always appreciate feedback, and I look forward to playing for your events again in the future. Regards, Daniel Salo
I have hired Daniel Salo on two occasions; once for a large, formal cocktail party for our Friends of the Library group, and once to accompany a student performance. In both instances working with Daniel was terrific. He is easy to communicate with, highly professional and adapts to the occasion. His musicianship is excellent. For the Friends of the Library event, our guests were interested in talking with him, and he was a polished and charming ambassador. I would hire him for any occasion and hope to work with him again.

Thank you Marian for your lovely feedback, which is very much appreciated. It was an honor entertaining at your events. Best regards, Daniel Salo
I have heard Daniel perform in many settings; both individually and with groups. He has a large song variety and he takes pride in high quality playing. His music is perfect for any occasion!
Heard Daniel play at a family reunion. He's a really talented pianist, and I fell qualified to make that statement coming from a family of musicians (my brother was a violinist at the Peabody Conservatory). His renditions of favorites and standards are right on, creative, and he is a very clean-cut looking guy. Hope he's available for my daughter's wedding. Can't imagine anyone ever being less than thrilled with his performance.
