Steve Holt Jazz Music for Special Events

For wedding and special events, my entire focus is providing the music that is appropriate for that event. Once hired, I like to meet with the client in advance of the event to make sure I fully understand exactly what they want. My job is pure fulfilment of their ideas and desires for their special day. My success in special events is due to a higher level of performance than people are accustomed to, combined with the perfect music for each specific event. People notice quality. No shortcuts!

Steve Holt is a JUNO nominated musician and one of Canada’s top jazz pianists. In 1981 he received McGill University’s first-ever Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz performance and studied piano in NYC with world-renowned pianist Kenny Barron. In 1983 he released his debut album which was nominated for a JUNO. Since that time, Steve has built an international reputation having performed with, among others, Archie Shepp, Larry Coryell, Eddie Henderson, James Moody, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Bob Mover, and Michel Urbaniak. In 2002 he won Honorable Mention at the USA Songwriting Competition – the largest songwriting competition in the world. He currently has 6 CD albums and 3 singles to his credit. Steve will release a new recording in April 2024, and will follow up with a cross Canada summer tour in 2024. Steve also spends a good deal of time performing at special events, including weddings. He draws on a vast repertoire of material to provide clients with exactly the right music for the occasion.

Client provides a grand piano, tuned the day of the event. Depending on the venue size, the client must also provide a suitable PA system for the piano and any other instruments. Should no piano be available, I can provide a portable electric grand piano with it's own PA for a nominal charge.
