Jean played the music well, knew what she was doing and was very easy to work with. Having Jean play at our ceremony made it one less thing to worry about. We would recommend her to everyone for any event!

Jean's heart combined with her passion for music tied my wedding ceremony together. She never allowed me to worry about the music that I would walk down the aisle to and was phenomenal throughout the ceremony. One of the best decisions you could make when a pianist is needed is to hire Jean DePiro. I have heard her play at restaurants, wineries, church, private events and at my own son’s wedding. How she can be the perfect musician at all these varied events and locations I can’t fathom, but she is! In addition to her musical skills—I mean this gal can play ANYTHING beautifully—she has a delightful personality and will be sure to provide exactly what you want.

Jean is a tremendous pianist with a broad range of music at the tip of her fingers. She plays classical, show tunes, carols, pop and jazz and is willing to accompany singers in any key! We had Jean play background music at a private party that ended with several guests singing along and Jean made the party so much more fun!

I have known Jean for 10 years in several different capacities: as Music Director, organist and pianist at one of the largest churches in the city; as Music Director and accompanist for a professional theater; and as a regular performer at major restaurants. As a church musician, she’s unparalled -- you’re either sitting there moved to tears by an Ave Maria or clapping enthusiastically to a rousing victory hymn. When she accompanied musical theater productions, the piano sounded like a full orchestra – I played for many years in both churches and theaters and I’ve never heard anything like it! When she played at restaurants, you had to make a reservation at least a week in advance – there was always a crowd. She can play any request and if there was a waiter or customer who was moved to perform, she was ready whether it was a Broadway musical, a love song, jazz or country. Since she moved to Charlottesville, restaurants have persuaded her to come back on occasion and the crowd is always there. If you’re looking for the best in a wide spectrum of musical venues, you can’t go wrong with Jean! Try it – you’ll like it!

I have known Jean for several years, as she is the music director at my church. In the last 14 months I have contracted Jean for two destination weddings (Snowshoe, WV and The Homestead). I know from church what a phenomenally talented pianist Jean is and once musical selections were made, I checked that 'worry' off my mother-of-the-bride list. I knew that the music would flow seamlessly and beautifully. Along with the prelude, processional and recessional at both weddings, Jean provided expert accompaniment for our soloists. They were impressed! She also did a bang-up job with background music for cocktail hour. Jean is a pro! And I hope she's available when we plan the next wedding!
