Crossover jazz-fusion artist Jean Lenke has been creating diverse live music for many years in the Philadelphia area and is now starting new adventures in Washington’s great northwest. As a performing artist, composer, lyricist, and bandleader she brings the joy of her parent’s music of the 1940’s together with the spirit of the Folk & Jazz-Rock Fusion soundtrack of her own youth in an eclectic mix ~ familiar, yet slightly off center, with haunting appeal.
Musically, Jean’s approach is free spirited and bold, crossing boundaries and mixing genres with a wild and creative hand. Artfully blending the magic of the past with the energy of the future Jean's delivery is transportive, melting hearts with her a crystal clear tone and sultry warmth.
The Jean Lenke Combos & Jean Therapy West Band is available for club, community & social events, corporate entertainment, and benefit concerts. Versatile and adaptable with a large catalog of music, Jean Therapy West Band offers a six-piece group of vocals, guitar, bass, keys, percussion, and saxophone or trumpet. Instrumentation can be configured in combos of various sizes as needed based on the venue and budget. Song selection includes Classic Jazz, Jazz-Folk, Jazz-Rock Fusion, Blues & a little "Dazz" along with contemporary West Coast Swing favorites!
We also play straight ahead Jazz and Jazz-Folk Fusion as an acoustic Duo, Classic Jazz Combos, and we can pull together a Gatsby, Speakeasy, or New Orleans style band for your special theme event complete with period songs and wardrobe.
Everyone needs a little ~ Jean Therapy.
