Jemileh Nour is a Boston-area artist well-known for her beautiful and passionate performances and vibrant, technique-driven drum solos, now also appearing in Central Massachusetts. Joyfully dancing in cultural events at home and in school, Jemileh was performing and competing by the time she was twelve.

Jemileh Nour is the whole package. A gorgeous woman, top-of-the-line costuming, grace, excitement, showmanship, heart and technique. She really knows how to work with her music and how to entertain an audience. I can't imagine anyone hiring this dancer and not being 110% pleased.

Jemileh has trained for over a decade in the art of Middle Eastern dance. She frequently travels to participate in workshops and shows, continuing and deepening her appreciation and love for the art form. She works hard at her craft to ensure the best possible presentation for her shows.
Jemileh is skilled at presenting folkloric presentations as well as modern Egyptian and American Cabaret style performances. Jemileh has trained in Turkish dance as well and loves to rock a karsilama!

Please note that performance rates start at $200, but may vary depending upon client requests. Repeat nightclub performances may be negotiated including a discount with contract.
Performances may include traditional props such as zills/sagat (finger cymbals), shamadam, and/or cane/tahtib. Jemileh can also incorporate props traditional to the American Cabaret style of dance including veil, double veil, fan or voi. Jemileh routinely incorporates zills/sagat and a veil performance in her shows. Please inquire if you are interested in a specific prop, or have an idea for a specific performance.

A standard performance includes entrance with zills, veil performance, classic Arabic song (or Turkish, depending on clients' preferenece), folkloric piece, drum solo, exit. Additional props may be added including sword, cane, voi (veil poi), shamadan, candle tray, wings upon request.
Jemileh is greatly influenced by her favorite dance artists, including Randa Kamal of Cairo, Jillina (US), Ranya Renee (US), Azizza (US), Mona Said (Egypt), Rakia Hassan (Egypt), Dr. Mo Geddawi (Germany), and of course the great dancers of the Golden Age, especially Naima Akef.
There is no dance (at least comprehensible to observers!) without music. Favorites include Um Kalthum, Mohamed Abdel Wahid, Abedl halim Hafez as well as modern musicians Amr Diab, Hakim and Saad, to name a few.
