I'm a classical and new-age pianist with jazz influences for 20+ years, with impeccable timing and improvisation skills, perfect for weddings and other formal events. I also sing jazz style with folk influence.
With my gifts of perfect pitch and relative pitch, I'm a uniquely fitting choice for formal events because I can seamlessly match the energy of the room and change pre-laid musical plans to accommodate the situations.
I book 1hr minimum and in 1hr increments, up to 3 hrs. $150/hr. An additional $50 required for equipment transport if a piano isn't provided.
Weddings come with professionally recorded digital copies of all requested songs a week before the wedding as a failsafe.
She made the evening perfect by providing just what we were looking for.
Jessica Lyn is not only a talented pianist, she is also an accomplished singer, song writer, and musical director.
In addition to her list of accomplishments she, along with her husband James, is the owner of her theater company "A Company of Strangers."
She has often graced us with her live musical performances for various events at our college library and her original music can be heard in our Academic Cafe via her recorded CD.
Thank you, Jessica, for doing such a great job putting together my daughter's accompaniment for the Wisconsin School of Music Association competition (WSMA) today at Waukesha West. She is exited to perform the piece again with you at State in April.
Jessica Lyn played at an event for the Wauwatosa Woman's Club in WI this winter. She was very easy to work with, extraordinarily good with communication, and chose the perfect selections for our family-oriented Soup Tasting event. Thank you for your beautiful music!
Jessica Lyn is everything that you could ask for in a musician. She wrote music to fit many songs I had written that truly embodied the sound that I was looking for, to compliment each individual selection. I have performed with her and had the pleasure of hearing her play in many different settings. She is dedicated in all that she does and is an amazing talent. Whether it's a wedding, funeral, or any special occasion, she is the perfect fit.
Even though I was demanding and asking for the most outrageous requests, she put up no arguments and arranged a full and completely new song for my wedding. Looking back, I would have not picked anyone else. If you are looking for a unique and talented pianist, I would recommend Jessica before anyone else.
I highly recommend Jessica as a skilled piano player. Two weeks before my wedding, the original music I had planned got canceled. Jessica saved my day by agreeing to play for us. She worked out a wonderful arrangement.
Jessica did a fantastic job with the music at our wedding...She possesses a gift of being able to being able to project any feeling with the music she plays, and she's very talented...definitely a step above the boring, overused music I'’ve heard at many weddings. I would recommend her for music at any wedding!

I will always dress in semi formal attire unless asked to do differently.
PLANNING:
My gift is hearing music and being able to play it after listening, but it can also be my curse! I certainly can read music if you desire me to learn a particular piece exactly, but instead of loading me up with sheet music, try to email me links to youtube or some other music site or file.
DETAILS
I am a perfectionist and like when you know what you want...please help me help you make the event a success by nitpicking at me! Text or email me as often as you want as things pop in your mind at random...it is NOT a bother. I welcome the challenge! Give me a run for my money. ;)
INTERACTION
As easy as it is to perform and work with people on the professional side, sometimes it is hard for me to interact with the audience. I work best as background/ambiance music, as part of the event, rather than the sole performer with all eyes on me, when I have to think up jokes or witty interesting things on the fly every time I change songs! I certainly love interacting with people...but not while ON the stage as much. Though up for any challenge, please keep in mind what comes naturally for me so that your event is conducted in the best possible way.
Born in New York, grown up a Virginia girl, and now settled in Wisconsin, I have had a taste of all kinds of music cultures. I hope that my compositions will paint an audible picture of the human heart, leading the realization that emotions, though given by God, need to be governed by Christ. Music, in part, was created to tug the heartstrings of humanity, bringing us to thankfulness that our God has redeemed our frail state and continues to protect and cherish us as images of Himself, One Who also experiences emotions, though perfectly, such as joy, sadness, anger, and passionate love. I hope by listening to some of my creations, you can get a glimpse of this picture I have in mind.
I will need access to an outlet and at least a 4x4 foot radius of space to set up my keyboard and equipment. Otherwise, I need a piano provided.
