I perform close up card magic-all sleight of hand for a fun and memorable evening. My routine runs about 45 minutes where I do 15-18 tricks. I don't use or do the following: props, ropes, rings. juggling, pull rabbits out of a hat, mentalism, walk around or stage magic. My performance is done at your table with me sitting down and your guests feeling like they're part of everything. A close up mat, a few decks of cards and maybe some coins is what I show up with. Suited for gatherings where all can see the close up mat and cards. My routine works best for audience ages old enough to understand magic. It's ok if you're staring at the ceiling later that night thinking "how did that happen?"
Jimmy put on such a fun show! Me and my friends were totally stumped with his tricks!!!!!
I would highly recommend him for an evening of laughs and lots of surprises!!!!!!!

People would say that I'm funny and entertaining. Flexible and easy to work with. I will leave them with a fun, memorable experience.
I've loved card magic since I was 18. I've seen lots of shows where props are used and all kinds of things that are truly impossible to do, like make a car disappear. I gravitated to just card magic where someone could hand you a deck of cards from around their home and do sleight of hand.
I have a full time professional job that keeps me very busy. I came to Utah on a scholarship to play football years ago. After graduating from the U, I played professional baseball for 3 years until a career ending injury/surgery halted my childhood dreams. I was part of a local restaurant chain for 3 years (Mullboons) until I made the decision to enter the healthcare sector where I've now been for the past 3 decades.
When I did my first torn and restored business card trick to a cardiologist who was treating me poorly, he asked me to do it again. Of course I said no. He then told me that he wouldn't be prescribing my drug unless I did. I caved :-) He still never used my drug but he treated me much better after that. Since then I've been performing card magic at small, private parties, dinner parties, family holiday parties, small gatherings and lately for a few travelers visiting the city while staying at an AirBnB.
My life is busy. Outside of my professional job, I play in a very popular acoustic rock n roll cover band, ride a mountain bike, martial arts, I cook like a maniac, have a 4 season garden, and teach 8 different gardening classes at various places during the year. My passion is growning tasty food for healthy living.
I am married and have been for 411 years, oh, I mean 41 years with 3 great kids and 4 grandkids. I get to cook for the entire family every weekend when they all come over. I'm an empty nester now, but wasn't a few years back when I coached little league football and baseball for 17 years. I had little time for an actual vacation and I wouldn't change one thing about that.
The only items needed is a table and chairs for all to participate. There can be a few who don't sit at the table but they should be close enough to easily see the close up mat. Depending on the magic selection, I may need a glass, matches, a piece of paper and pencil, and possibly a blind fold. This is only because people think the one's I bring over are rigged :-) There may be a time when the host will need to turn off all the room lights. Other than that, I need no special lighting, stage, or sound.
My routine is very simple: I come to you with a few decks of cards, a close up mat, and a few coins depending on the magic selection for the night.
