Overview
Lookin for classy cocktail music? Rockin' sing along tunes? Elton and Billy all night? I've got ya! I've been gigging professionally since I was 13. After law school, I decided to move to Nashville to make music. What does this say about my life choices? That's debatable. But it should let you know how much I enjoy entertaining! For the last 6 years I've been working as a dueling piano player, but now I'm excited to start booking some solo shows in addition to my dueling engagements. No matter what sort of event you've got in mind, I've got the gear, repertoire, and skills to keep everybody entertained! I even own a suit, promise! Dueling Pianos/Guitar & Piano/Full Band shows also available!

Joe was super professional and amazing for our corporate event. He was very good at reading the room and had amazing music the entire time. Extremely talented and we will be using him again in the future for events!

Awesome time with some old friends. We sang and danced all night. If your looking for some one to engage the crowd and truly have a great time. His ability to learn a song a song request in a few moments blows my mind.
Dueling Pianos

What to Expect
I genuinely love being a musician, and I think that is one of the most obvious parts about watching me perform. Whether I'm the life of the party, or background music, I love bringing a smile to somebody's face while I do something I love.
As a dueling piano player, I've amassed a repertoire of thousands of songs, and developed my ability to learn requests in mere seconds, so I enjoy gigs that have some degree of interaction with my crowd. That said, sometimes it's almost therapeutic for me to just get behind a piano and perform while folks sip on a cocktail or catch up with friends.
Whether you want country, rock, rap, classical, jazz, all-request, background music, religious music - I've got ya covered.
I've played gigs for drunk partiers and millionaires. And drunk millionaires. Weddings, funerals, divorce parties (no, seriously)... I've played for small groups and in front of thousands. I'm very comfortable "reading the room" and accommodating any special requests. If I commit to a gig, you can expect professional communication, an on-time arrival, tidy set-up, and a performance that is customized to your specific needs!
About
Writing a bio is daunting, but here goes.
I was born and raised in Cleveland. I began playing my parents organ when I was 4 years old, and by the time I was 6 I had been on the news, in newspapers, and written up in national magazines as a "piano prodigy." Sadly, this was before TikTok, and I soon became the 15 year old kid taking lessons at the Cleveland Institute of Music and dreaming of the day I could stop being hounded by my parents to practice.
That said, I began performing for church services and cocktail hours when I was 13 years old, and have continued performing throughout my undergrad days (Ohio State) and law school (Pitt Law). After law school, I decided to move to Nashville, where I played on broadway with some extremely talented musicians, until I discovered dueling pianos and relocated to St Louis.
I've been primarily a dueling pianist for the past 6 years. I play with bands, and as half of an acoustic act sometimes, and have occasionally played solo shows when the opportunity arises, but I find myself wanting to play more... and of course, supplement my income a bit! So, here I am, writing a bio on GigSalad... hopefully you're enticed by what you're seeing and we'll be in touch!
Additional Booking Notes
I am happy to play any in-tune piano that you have, or provide my own keyboard. I have wooden piano shells that mimic the appearance of an upright piano to keep the setup looking professional. I have a full PA system and lights, and will make sure that the volume is what you're looking for! I simply need an outlet and a space to setup, and we're good to rock!
Set List
I know it seems lazy to not include some set lists, but the vast majority of my performances are all-request shows! If you give me a genre, artist, decade, etc, I can give you a list of my top 20 songs that fit that description! Curious, just ask!
