I'm a Host/MC with 20 years experience and I've literally done it all live: From huge awards shows for Fortune 500 companies in front of thousands to running "Survivor" style games on a beach for a group of 20.
(Literally "done it all" - I've been the voice of a Moose head, did a game show for prisoners, improvised an event for Nestle on-the-spot and performed for the troops overseas)
I pride myself on being professional, engaging, low maintenance, on time, on point and, most of all, entertaining!
I started standup when I was 16, improv when I was 17 - and I still do them both - but when I started with Feet First Events in 1996, I found MCing as my passion!

I think "sense of humor" is the main thing that separates me from the pack - whether it be in phone calls or live presentations, I always come with a smile. I keep it corporate clean and make sure all have a good time.
But don't confuse that with "unprofessional." I pride myself on my professionalism! I show up early, I come prepared, I'm low maintenance, and I understand the stakes - no matter how "loose" the event is.
I'm aware I'm part of a team to make a fantastic event!
I've been onstage since I was in my teens, so I know poise and how to present. I've got improv training and am able to go off-the-cuff and adjust to ever-changing events - I relish the curve balls live events often come with.
I keep them engaged, take the stress off of you, and leave them laughing...
"Your MC Joel was so incredibly funny!!"

I have been a comedian since the age of 16. However, in June of 1996, I started working for Feet First Eventertainment - one of the top-regarded event companies in Southern California - as an MC for schools, weddings and corporate events.
Whether it's for small groups of 13 to large groups of 1000 or more, whether it's on a beach with no sound system or at The Grove of Anaheim, I've always prided myself on bringing the professionalism and energy that has earned me strong references and repeated bookings.
These are a few of the Events I have hosted or MC'ed for:
-- Game Shows ("Jeopardy," "Minute 2 Win It," "Family Feud")
-- Award Ceremonies
-- Scavenger Hunts
-- D.o.D. Tour
-- Cooking Challenges (chili cook-off, Salsa/Guac Challenge)
-- Survivor Games
-- Olympic-type Events
-- Build-a-Bike
-- Holiday Parties
-- Weddings
-- Corporate Retreats/Seminars
-- Sporting Tournaments
-- "The Apprentice"-style Event (I actually do a solid Donald Trump...)
-- Quiz Nights
-- Comedy Clubs/Comedy Nights
-- The Voice of an animatronic Moose
-- Maximum Security Prison
(Those last 2 aren't jokes...)
I've hosted for smaller parties and for some very big companies (Microsoft, Nestle, Amgen, Broadcom, McKinsey, Southwest, Google, Bank of America, Prudential, AFLAC, Disney, Guess, Proctor & Gamble, Deloitte, Chevron, among many, many others). Also, I'm a team player and have worked with a large number of DMC's and Event Planners.
I'm not a shy guy. I've been an actor since I was 12, with credits ranging from TV ("Monk," "Criminal Minds") to movies ("The Heartbreak Kid," "Valkyrie") to the web and theatre.
As a stand-up comedian, I've always enjoyed riffing with the audience, and I bring that to my Hosting. Since one must often operate off-the-cuff to keep the momentum of an event going, I think these skills are one of my strongest selling points. Cookie cutters are great...But it's wonderful to be able to make the event of-the-moment.
Though I've performed in numerous venues of varying degrees of acceptable comedy, I'm very adept at keeping it clean or, if requested, pushing an envelope without ever crossing the line. I don't humiliate, I don't alienate. I'm there to have fun, just as much as everyone else is.
I show up early. I'm low maintenance. I'm fun to be around. I never cross the line. I love to make people laugh and smile. And I'm especially proud of the fact that I'm almost always asked back!

I can literally adjust to anything.
A microphone is nice. Speakers as well.
Maybe a bottle of water.
Outside of that, I'm good.

My biggest influence in my hosting style is the Friars' Club roasts of the golden age. When guys like Dean Martin, Don Rickles and Sammy Davis, Jr. would rib, go off script and be endlessly entertaining, all coming from a place of love, never alienating.
Also a huge talk show host fan: The classiness of Johnny Carson, the uniqueness of early David Letterman, the improv of Craig Ferguson, the pure joy of Conan O'Brien.
