Joel Shewmake discovered his musical talents at age 14 while growing up in Cookeville, Tennessee. He moved to Nashville in 2001 and after landing his first deal with BMG, Joel played countless songwriters nights and experienced the gamble of a songwriting career. Later he signed with Amylase Entertainment and has enjoyed the success of cuts by Craig Campbell, Gary Allan, Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, and Brad Paisley. Joel is known for crafting songs that stay true to his country roots, but don’t let this simple country boy fool you; his songs pack an unforgettable punch. His event set lists include a mix of country favorites from the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as his original music.
Joel has been a staple at the Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriter's Festival for over 10 years. He has become part of our family here in Henderson and is one of the best songwriters we have had. I highly recommend everyone to go see one of his shows.
