A cheerful, energetic mood is the most important part of balloon twisting. Fortunately, it's easy to be cheerful when you watch kids smile as a career. It starts with fun chat, but not school chat (grown-ups ALWAYS ask about school). When they ask for a pink bunny, I compliment them on color choice and ask if they have ever seen a real pink bunny. I may do some play by play: "Now let’s make those big bunny ears, do you like big bunny ears, or do you like little bunny ears?" When creating a black balloon sword, I may say "Ooo, black is the color of ninjas, will this be a ninja sword?" Etc.
For big events, I can bring my teenage kids to help twist for an extra fee.

Twist N' Shout Balloon Twisters were the highlight of our preschool fundraising event! They were so nice and the kids Loved their unique balloon creations they were able to do (especially with the fun metallic balloons). Twist N Shout (Joe) was a wonderful addition to our son’s 6th birthday party! He arrived promptly, was very polite, and made some of the most magnificent and unique balloon creations. The kids were so delighted and the adults were amazed at all his creations. We had never seen most of them before. He worked well with the children and twisted very quickly; the kids never seemed to get inpatient. He was definitely a highlight of the party and we highly recommend Twist N Shout!

The duo are super talented and created an amazing variety of balloon items (from games, to Ninjas, to hats, to flowers, swords, bows and arrows, and more). The kids loved these two and were in line to get balloons from them all night. Kids love balloons! It was a WIN all around for our event. We look forward to inviting these two back in the future.

I am a father of 5 who began balloon twisting around 2004 to make fun things for my son (you can see my kids modeling in my balloon photos). I started doing occasional events for family and my church, mostly dabbling a little here and a little there. In the last few years, I have jumped in with both feet. I now enjoy doing birthday parties, picnics, fundraisers and more when the opportunity arises.
For a typical event, I generally make creations using 1-3 balloons. This generally amounts to 100 creations in 2 hours. To avoid lines that might emerge at big events, I coax kids to smaller 1-2 balloon creations which can increase productivity to about 125 creations in 2 hours.
