John was absolutely fantastic! We had an intimate 50th birthday party in our home with about 30 guests. He showed up on time, got set up on his own, and started playing and played straight through for 3 hours. He covered everyone from the Eagles to The Lumineers to the Foo Fighters. His voice is fantastic, music was perfect, and it added a really special quality to the party. I loved him so much I am thinking of throwing another party just to hear him perform again. Highly recommend!

John did live music at our wedding just outside of Indianapolis. His music selections were on point and he did incredible. We would recommend him to anyone wanting live music for their event!
John was perfect for our event. We had a busy room of vendors networking and mingling. John was prompt and polite, and his music choices were exactly what we wanted. He made for a great vibe during our open house and I would highly recommend him. Not only was he easy to work with, he has a great voice and musical talent, all of our guests mentioned how awesome it was to have him there.

Let me start by saying we booked John just 2.5 weeks before our wedding... We had booked another singer and guitarist (outside of GigSalad) to play a specific song during our ceremony, and when they told us that they could no longer make it, we were obviously pretty freaked out by the idea of finding their replacement in such short time. After posting the request on GigSalad, I think John responded within an hour, stating he was available and could cover the song the way we wanted it. After discussing the details a little further and watching some of his videos, we booked him to play the ceremony AND our cocktail hour, but I'd be lying if I said I was fully confident that everything would go well with only 2 weeks to go...
John showed up more then prepared. Without a rehearsal, John nailed the song and tricky timing during our ceremony, played a great set list during our cocktail hour, and was so polite and professional throughout the entire experience. With all that, I have no hesitation giving John my full recommendation for a wedding, or any event really. Thanks again, John; that was the best day of our lives and you were a huge part of its success!

John Blythe played for 4 hours at our Open House party. He is talented and flexible. He learned several of our favorite oldies. As the outdoor weather improved, he moved his equipment outdoors. Everyone enjoyed his singing and playing. We highly recommend John Blythe.

Great background music that they can ignore or fun engaging tunes that they can tap their foot, nod their head, and singalong with.
I do acoustic covers of modern and classic hits along with some not so well known songs sprinkled in for variety's sake. One man band with equipment for small venues (e.g. restaurants, mixers, etc), though an in-house system is preferred for best results and control by the staff.
