JOHN JEFFERY (J.J.) ROLLE
Born in Valdosta Georgia, JOHN JEFFERY (J.J.) ROLLE has been performing on stage since the tender age of eight; first in school productions, then community and professional shows. A graduate of Valdosta High School, he was a part of the first production from the school to compete in regional competition, a member of the school choir and a nominee for the Governor's Honors program in Drama. He attended Valdosta State where he studied Theatre Performance and Radio & TV and did a stint as News Director for the college radio station, WVVS Fm, organized the stations' spring concert (Mayhem) and the first celebration of Earth Day held in the city on behalf of Students Against Violating the Environment (S.A.V.E.). He also worked and performed for the March Against The Death Penalty from Stark Fla. To Atlanta Ga. During this time. As an actor, he has had roles in Of Mice and Men, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, two original musicals (Toy Boys! and The Kahoogaphone )and the title role in Shakespeare's Othello just to name a few! He also appears in the film The Trouble With Sex singing two of his original works.
As a singer/songwriter, he has been the opening act for Dr. John, Arlo Guthrie and Ultravox's Midge Uhre. Until recently he fronted two bands: a 7-pc. dance band called Cantaloupe! with several TV appearances to their credit as well as performing 5 years in a row at the Guinness International Jazz Festival and his own 6pc. Soul/Funk/Jazz band, JJ's Soul Funkshun, one of the headline acts at the 1st Guinness St. Patrick's Day Weekend Festival.
