John Liu - Stand-Up Comedy

If you're looking for insightful, witty, intelligent comedy, I've got that! In addition to myself, I can also bring along a suite of performers for a full lineup ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes or more depending on your needs, or fit in with any lineup you may already have in mind. I am an experienced host and feature comic, and love meeting new people.

While I love performing for any audience, Chinese and Filipino audiences may suit me well because of my background and material, which touches on those cultural experiences.

I can work clean as needed for all audiences.

I am a first-generation Filipino-Chinese American, and I started stand-up comedy as a way to get better at public speaking, and now I find myself enjoying it for the creative challenge and the joy it brings to both me and the audiences I perform for! I've performed all over LA and Orange County, and have performed at the Ice House, the Comedy Store, the Improvs at Brea, Ontario, and Irvine, and Levity Live in Oxnard.

I love exploring and new experiences, and I try to live life to the fullest! Having experienced life in numerous situations, I am thrilled to be able to share my perspectives and musings with audiences of all varieties. As a working professional, I understand how important it is to respect the venue and the audience, and will perform accordingly. My comedy ranges from the controversial to the universal, and can work as clean as needed.

In addition to English, I also speak Tagalog, having grown up in the Philippines.

While I prefer that an audio system be present already, I can bring a speaker and microphone with me if needed, but I do not have any lighting equipment.
