Good clean comedy and good clean fun!
John Yoggi was born John Edward Lewis, Jr. in Dallas, Texas. He walked into his comedic gift for the first time when he performed at his church banquet in 1992. He became an instant hit. John Yoggi began pursuing his career by performing and showcasing his comedy talent at other church banquets, city benefits, and contests around the Dallas/Fort Worth metro-plex.
In 1997, John Yoggi won the Christian comedy event, “Praise in the Park” at Heaven 97's (KHVN 970am) talent contest. He has performed as Master of Ceremonies and hosting extraordinaire, which he includes his many comedy skits. He has also performed at a variety of comedy clubs and events around the city, including the Black America Museum at Dallas' Fair Park in 2002. He has been heard as “J. Lew” as a co-host on “Real Talk with Spence” on 100.7FM the Word (Christian Talk Radio). John Yoggi leaves audiences in “stitches” with his performances with many saying, “I can relate to that!”
While performing as a comedian was John Yoggi's first break, you may have seen him as a drummer in “The Riff”, starring Nia Peoples and Antonio Fargas. You could have possibly seen him as a homeless man in “The Key Man”, starring Alan Baldwin. Along with these two dynamic movies, John's acting skills were also seen in stage plays such as, “BTU” and the ever funny “Fatbacks and Collard Greens” by playwright, Dessie Sanders. He also displayed his serious acting skills in the play “The Moaning Bench” by playwright Mr. Robert Helm.
John Yoggi's comedy experience has grown to the corporate level as well. He's performed at company Christmas parties and other special company events since 2005. When he's not busy on the stage, John spends his time ministering to the youth at his home church.
