Johnny Wu Magic

Johnny performed at our corporate function. He was immediately engaging and funny. While the employees were getting food from a buffet line, he visited the tables and performed close-up magic. Once the employees sat down to eat, he performed in front of the entire crowd.

He is good at keeping the audience involved and engaged. He did an amazing trick where the sketch of the card selected by the volunteer from the audience slowly rose out of the sketch of a deck of cards. Then, he tore the sketch out of the sketch pad, and it was simply a sketch done with a Sharpie. I was scratching my head on that one, still.

To me, the value Johnny adds isn't just the magic tricks. I'm fairly certain that most magicians can do the same ones. But, it was in the overall performance. He is a combination of magician and a stand-up comedian. He had in stitches several times.

The moment he walked into our company Christmas party, I was thinking who is this gentleman with the suitcase? Is he a singer or a celebrity from a show? Sure enough it didn't take long to find out who he was, he approached our table, introduced himself and said 'if we wanted to see some magic?' We all said sure and played a long with it.
He showed us a black sharpie and told one of my friend to open his hand, turn his palm and drew a small black dot circle. One of my co worker that was also next to him, he said 'just put your left hand down and put your right hand on top of it'. I'm very observant and watched every second of his move to see if the sharpie or his hand touch my co workers. Nothing ever got close.
Next thing you know he took out the black dot from my friend palm and blew something to my co worker hand, and there goes a black dot in my co worker palm. Whoa and unbelievable is what all of us said on the table.
He kept it going to the next table, on to the stage. He entertain the whole company and guests. Folks if you want to see real live wizardry he's the one. Johnny Wu your the real deal man, it was an honor to have you.

Was he worth it? Yes. Simply, absolutely, 100%, guaranteed, Yes.
We had Johnny Wu at our Son's First Birthday Party. Was it for the kids?...yes. Was it also for the adults? heck yes.

Besides the show itself, Johnny Wu is a great person. With just the few conversations we've had prior to the show give you a sense of who he is as a person. He genuinely wants you to have a great experience and cares deeply about your needs. When I go to hire someone, it is really important to me that the person is passionate about his craft because you kind of spend the money, roll the dice, and hope that it goes well. Immediately after our initial conversations I felt at ease knowing I didn't have to worry about how it might turn out.

Johnny and Team Wu Magic are both amazing!! The team wu magicians Dylan and Brad performed for my corporate event and they blew everyone's mind!! You have to hire them for your party! Met Johnny at a corporate event. Didn't know what to expect at first but thought he was going to be some run-down street magician with a few crappy tricks. Boy was I wrong. Johnny is a young, intelligent and professional magician who performed some of the most amazing tricks I have ever seen. He got everyone involved, was very nice and is easy to engage. A real crowd pleaser and a great personality. If not for Johnny the party would have been a total bore.

One of the many highlights of the evening was Johnny Wu. We, or rather my wife, planned our wedding largely by ourselves. Without a wedding coordinator on the big day things were extremely chaotic. When we had to push the timing of our cocktail hour so my wife can change into her qi pao (chinese wedding) and so the guests would not wait too long for food to be served Johnny made extra effort and was flexible for his start time which was a big help.

When the show started he kept the guests entertained, laughing, and warmed up for our big entrance. His table to table magic was what everybody talked about. We heard a lot of comments on how good Johnny's magic was, and how fun he was because they've never seen a magician at a wedding before. Lot's of people thought having a magician would be strange for a wedding, but his table to table magic or strolling magic totally works as an easy way to entertain and break the ice particularly for people who don't know each other and you have to seat them at the same table. Works great for your singles table! He keeps things age appropriate, more adult for you adult guests, and he's fun for kids too!

Later on he did his 15 minute stage show which was great! Very few people get to see magic of this quality up close. And he has great stage presence. Magic can be a very simple, people may think it's fake or always try to figure it out. The point is to be entertained, to laugh. Johnny has great stage presence, he has great timing. He knows how to juice a crowd, get them excited, he makes great moments happen, we frenched kissed... well I don't know what really happened, but it was hilarious and my eyes were closed.

Johnny Wu is worth it, book him for your event, you'll make it memorable.

Ive never seen real life professional magic before, only the acts on television that leave you wondering if it had been staged or altered, but watching Johnny's magic was as mindblowing and convincing and as seamless as television- but being up close you know it's real, and nothing is hidden- it's all out there for everyone to see. I've watched a good number of tricks and he has an incredible variety, not the simple ones you get off books and the internet; and he's never repeated tricks. All the tricks go off without a hitch and he's never been close to slipping up. I always try to guess what's going on but I never know for sure, every single act is impossible to figure out and leave you absolutely amazed, without fail- even the simpler acts are incredible and must take years of practice. I feel like none of his acts could be replicated by finding a book or video and practicing it a few times, they truly take immense talent, practice and technique- they're completely convincing.

The greatest part though doesn't lie soley in his top notch professional skill but his interaction - the reason why you would hire live magicians especially one like Johnny; he seems like an average Asian but not only does he turn out to be an extremely talented professional but he is incredibly friendly and engages the audience so well in all the acts, making them a part of the magic and making the show much more interesting; being part of the act is the best experience ever, and everybody ends up laughing and chattering on about how mindblowing it was- my friends and I joked we were convinced it was black magic. Johnny is so friendly and good with people, he's very sociable and genuine- everybody from the little boys and girls I know, to teens like my friends and me, to adults, are very comfortable with him. Also I think the biggest thing is his heart towards his job- he definitely doesn't do this just for the money; his goal in life is to make people happy, and uses his magic to entertain and brighten up moods; he puts on free little shows with friends; it's not only his job but his passion and that's how the most successful people become amazing.

When I have the money one day I would definitely invest in hiring him for anything I host that I would want to stand out; it'd be so unique because not many people have something so cool and professional like a magician, it would create such a exciting joyful atmosphere and I know i'd get a flawless performance; it'd leave a great impression of that event for all my guests.

I've seen countless of magician perform in LA I am an event planner. I hired Johnny when I saw his reviews on yelp and gigsalad. His magic trick is so different from the old style, he makes people believe we can do the magic ourselves the adults and the children had so much fun! I was planning my wife's bday party held at my residence with catered food and open bar. I wanted to surprise my guests with something out of the ordinary -so I was looking for a David Blaine type of performer for entertainment. You won't get the " ice pick" stomach churning tricks that DB does on TV but what you will get is to experience a performance of a lifetime. This gentleman took the time to secretly "teach " me some magic I can perform on my wife ( not that type of trick people =)) for the finale of the show. Great tricks, awesome personality, punctual, interactive, and very entertaining. He basically made my party a success and my wife was happy! Johnny is half man-half amazing. Unreal but true to the art. Book this gentlemen-you will not regret it!

I saw Johnny at my friend's wedding and thought it was going to be another cheesy magic trick. I have never been amused by magicians before but Johnny has a really impressive show. I saw him perform up front and close and was pretty amazed how seamless and smooth he executed the performance. (It still boggles my mind how he was able to make the card move on the floor without touching it!) He reminds me a bit of David Blaine street magic but Johnny has a better personality that engages the audience - he's so friendly and down to earth. Johnny's show brings a breath of fresh air to magic and makes it appeal to all generations. I can see him really making it big so I'm glad I was able to watch him in person before he gets too popular!

At first, he seemed like a friendly, ordinary guy. And all of a sudden, he started doing some really cool card tricks and ring tricks! I was very entertained and was wowed by his magic. I had no idea how he did it!

He performed well and effortlessly. He brought smiles to all of our faces. And he did a great job in making us all believe in magic. We're still wondering how he did what he did!

Johnny Wu is an amazing magician. I knew him personally for some time before seeing him perform magic for the first time at a wedding - and I couldn't believe he was self-taught! He performs so smoothly and naturally that the tricks become that much more amazing once he reveals it to you. He also learns new tricks very quickly. Almost every time we meet he has a new trick to show me - and he does it so well that I'm left wondering how he is able to add to his repertoire so quickly. Two thumbs up and a must-have at weddings or birthday parties if you, your loved ones, or your guests want to see live magic. Works well with people and is a strong communicator.

Johnny performed at my Niece's 10th birthday party. To be honest, I was not expecting much of a magic show for a 10 year old. Once he started, you could see his passion for magic and entertaining. He had the kids amazed at his tricks and even showed the kids how to do two tricks .. which the parents were not allowed to partake in. He really engaged the kids as well as most of the parents including me.

After the magic show I had some time to talk with Johnny. I found he is driven to make people feel good. Be it a kid or grown up, it didn't seem to matter, it was the gratification of making a difference in someones day. Which he did for our party. I would highly recommend Johnny for any event you want to make special.

I attended a wedding where Johnny was performing and he really got the crowd going and impressed with his magic. The tricks had a lot of variety and kept the crowd intrigued. He also interacts really well with viewers and keeps them involved. The tricks were so cool that he even got a tip from one of the audience members ! I recently attended a yelp event and was lucky enough to be entertained by the amazing Johnny Wu. Throughout the entire night, Johnny never failed to bring a smile upon our faces and left us scratching our heads as we attempted to figure out his secrets. Party goers were so amazed and everyone was so impressed by his performance.

Johnny has a very inviting demeanor and made sure to engage his audiences during the performances. He ensure that everyone was having a good time and definitely contributed to making the night truly magical.

Seriously, this guy is "no waaaay" awesomely good!

We were planning for a charity fundraising event at our house and were brainstorming for entertainment ideas. I remember getting Johnny's flyer from the Yelp Prom event we attended and decided to give him a call. Right off the bat, we could tell this guy had a passion for what he did and that we were going to be in for an amazing performance so we decided to move forward with his services (not to mention this guy works at the Magic Castle!). On the day of, Johnny showed up promptly looking like what a modern day magician would look like and was ready to rock and roll. He started off with a few small tricks to warm up the crowd and then drew out the big guns to blow our minds. He even asked some people from the crowd to participate in his magic tricks, which was a nice touch. My favorite magic trick was the Rubik's cube where he solved it in less than 1 second! "No waaayy!" Johnny also performed some up close magic throughout the party, which made it more personal and entertaining for the crowd, especially the ones who were tipsy.

Johnny's dorky and humorous personality and energy made him very likable, approachable, and entertaining to watch. I will definitely utilize Johnny Wu's Magic services in the near future and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a captivating entertainment for their special event.

Johnny was hired at a Charity event my wife and I were attending. I was a little weary of seeing a magician at my age but I must say... It was AWESOME! Brought me back to when I was a kid again. Super funny and fun guy.
