Jokus Pocus Magic

Primarily performing for children's birthday parties, the Jokus Pocus Magic Show is centered around the birthday child and making them feel special. There are several opportunities during the show for the birthday kid to go up on stage and help perform some magic, which will make their special day even more magical.
The show is fully appropriate for all ages, and can be enjoyed by both children and adults. The show is focused on having fun and laughs for everyone, with magic all along the way.

Jody "Joe" Chambers is a magician and entertainer who began working as a magician with Disney Cruise Line in 2007, and has spent most of his time since then traveling the world and entertaining audiences of all ages. He now makes his home in BC, and brings as much magic as he can to the lower mainland (and beyond!).

The show can be performed in a relatively small space, and no special equipment is necessary for most in home shows. Set-up is minimal and only takes a couple of minutes before the show, and the clear-up only takes a few minutes again aftewards. I don't typically use a sound system or special lights, so please include any such requirements in your request. No actual raised professional stage is required, so as long as there is space for everyone in the audience to sit (the floor works great!), then I can work within almost any other space limits.

Ideally shows should take place indoors. There would basically need to be room for me to stand and move around a bit, some space for the small table I bring with me, and a little extra room for a volunteer to join me on the stage (approximately 3m wide by 2m). If possible, the stage area should be located against a solid wall, and not with any major windows or doors behind, as this becomes distracting for the audience and makes it difficult for everyone to see.

At least one adult from the family is required to remain in the room to assist with monitoring the children. If there is a bigger party going on at the same time as the show (for example, if the adults won't be watching with the children), I recommend having the show in a separate room from where others will be congregating, as the sounds of others talking can be distracting for the children watching the show.

For similar reasons, if there is food being served at the party, I recommend that this be done either before or after the performance, as kids have trouble focusing on eating and watching at the same time. It also helps to prevent spills, messes, and other such incidents during the show.

If the party will be outdoors, please note this in the initial pre-booking conversations. If there are any other concerns, such as allergies, triggers, etc, please also note these ahead of time.
