Tasteful solo guitar for the background or foreground. Never loud or in-your-face, Jonah's guitar playing adds a sophisticated, cosmopolitan touch to any social gathering.
Jonah Kraut, born in Washington, D.C., raised in Evanston, Illinois, schooled in Boston, Massachusetts, and living in Nashville, Tennessee, began playing music on the cello at age six, expanding to guitar at fourteen. Jonah was initially inspired by recordings of Jimi Hendrix, John Coltrane, and Robert Johnson. He attended the New England Conservatory of Music, earning a Bachelors of Arts in Jazz Guitar Performance. Upon graduating, he assisted Ran Blake, producing two albums by the esteemed noir-pianist while performing and recording with Americana ensembles around Boston. At twenty-eight, Jonah moved to Nashville to continue his musical pursuits. In 2012, Jonah recorded Boppin' the Blues at Cowboy Jack Clement's newly renovated studio. Today he performs in Latin-American ensembles Serenatta and Choro Nashville, teaches private music lessons through (link hidden) and Melody Music Studios on guitar, bass, cello, violin and piano, is a Registered Piano Technician through the Piano Technicians Giuld, and volunteers at W.O. Smith Music School. Jonah released his second album, Roots & Vines in June of 2014.
