In addition to extensive training and years of practice as a make up artist I am also a fine artist receiving a BFA from UF in painting. I grew up with a love for theatre. I didn't spend any time onstage however, I lived backstage. Ever since middle school I was in love with set design, costume, hair and most of all make up. When I came up to UF I began working for MAC in 2005. The constant and on going training and caliber of people around pushed me to hone my craft. It is that pursuit of knowledge and skill that would refine and elevate my work that propelled me to go back to UF to earn a BFA in painting. Armed with a more disciplined eye and a more finely tuned sense of touch whether it be with a brush or the hand I am here and ready to serve Gainesville.
I can do some hair but by no means am I a hair professional. I am a make up professional!
I prefer to start on fresh clean faces. If someone still has makeup on I do provide make up remover and skin cleanser. After the canvas is makeup free and clean, I will apply moisturizer and primers before beginning the application of color or face products. I have a comprehensive collection comprised solely of MAC brushes and cosmetics and that is all that I use. I take very good care of my make up and brush collection and I always sanitize it after each client.
Fatima Thomas is my number one make up hero! As a pro team member that travels the world her dedication and skill cannot be matched but it is her positive and infectious attitude that sets her above the rest. It is my goal in life to follow that example.
