Joyous Voices has been providing enjoyable seasonal vocal music in the strolling quartet style throughout the Baltimore-DC corridor since 1996.
Our outstanding multi-ethnic singers boast a range of credits, and all of our performers have impressive theatrical experience. We customize our performance from traditional strolling to cabaret-style quarteting, and happily respond to requests. Our four-plus hour repertoire includes standard arrangements of seasonal favorites to jazzy renditions of holiday classics. We sing from international traditions in French, German, Spanish and Latin, showcasing novelty rarities and we especially enjoy performing Chanukah tunes or leading sing-a-longs.
I truly appreciated Joyous Voices and their excellent performance. I chose to hire carolers this year to add a special touch to our event. I loved that Joyous Voices dressed up in 1950 holiday costumes and gave our group the whole Christmas experience. They were very professional and we enjoyed having them.
Joyous Voices was absolutely wonderful! They had great communication, were efficient and sounded wonderful! Great way to start the holiday season!
Joyous Voices has presented wonderful holiday spirited performances for our November arts festival for the past two years and we look forward to the return of these very talented and beautifully costumed musicians. The four singers created lovely musical moments with the close harmonies in the quartet. We enjoyed their audience interaction and their involving volunteer audience members to join them on stage for a bell ringing and singing favorite song everyone knew, a Christmas memory the children will have for many years to come. And when we needed to change the performance space to a larger room to provide more seating for the audience, these resourceful singers turned the move of folks into a Christmas caroling strolling experience through the halls for everyone, making it appear as if it was to be a scheduled part of the festivities. I appreciated the ease of the booking process and coordination with the group’s manager, Ms Mullany. This is a very professional organization and I highly recommend them for any Christmas holiday event.

Strolling carolers, two women and two men, dressed in colorful Dickens-era costumes (bonnets, top hats, tail coats, frocks). We pride ourselves in our professional presentation. We arrive early, ready to sing on time. We sing indoors or outdoors (we cannot sing in precipitation or extreme cold). We can enter singing as a surprise at a private party, and perform in virtually any setting.
Imagine your ideal holiday party... a lovely variety of gaily-dressed guests sampling the best of your festive offerings... beautifully-festooned halls and stunningly adorned appointments... and lively seasonal music from JOYOUS VOICES!
Our strolling, costumed carolers have delighted audiences at venues from southern Pennsylvania to Northern Virginia since 1996. We have entertained at venues diverse as the Walters Art Museum, the Baltimore Mayor’s Christmas Parade, and the Avenue at White Marsh. We can create a buoyant atmosphere on mike in spacious settings, enhance intimate private parties or inspire sing-a-long revelry at family gatherings. Our five-hour repertoire reflects the broad range of possibilities for holiday music, from well-known traditional arrangements of Christmas standards, to jazzy treatments of seasonal classics. Chanukah selections complement our offerings, and we accommodate spontaneous requests of crowd favorites.
Dressed in Dickens-era gowns, tails, top hats and bonnets, we brighten any seasonal decor. We also offer colorful contemporary costuming, or even Renaissance apparel for a dazzling effect– we enjoy customizing our presentation to suit your imagination.
Our carolers boast credits from the Baltimore and Washington and Philadelphia Operas, the former Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Chorus, New Orleans Symphony Chorus, Theater Works U.S.A., and the Phoenix Choir of Baltimore. We also list theatrical experience including the Old Globe Theatre, Eubie Blake Cultural Center, Maryland Arts Festival, Theatre Virginia, Pumpkin Theatre, and every dinner theater in the Baltimore-Washington, DC corridor.
Fully acoustic and flexible. We can perform while strolling or on your sound equipment.
