We’re a vintage period Entertainment Group featuring LIVE music & dance acts. We specialize in 1920s - 1970s. Our specialists cover vaudville style Tap, Lindy Hop, Carolina Shag, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, Boogie Woogie, even those 60s dance crazes Mashed Potato, Twist, Hucklebuck, The Madison Time! Plus Latin street dances like Mambo, Salsa, Marengue, Bachata, plus be have Pro Ballroom dancers for Waltz & Foxtrot.
We provide:

Our dance instructors, Sammy and Renata, were absolutely phenomenal! They managed to captivate guests of all ages, from the youngest toddler to the oldest elder. Their enthusiasm and energy were contagious, making the dance lesson a highlight of the evening. They taught us how to perform the Charleston, which fit the theme of our party. They even took the time to pose for pictures with guests and in our event photo booth, adding an extra touch of fun for our guests. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Paolo and Laurentina were really great. They danced wonderfully and were so personable. My guest enjoyed the performance but especially when Paolo took the time out to teach some of the dance steps from the 1920s era. We had some good laughs and fun when we tried to learn the moves. Sammy and his partner Carmen were Awsome. They performed 2 dances from the 1920’s and then had an interactive session and taught my guest a few dance steps. They then stayed around and took photos with my guest. So very glad we hired them because they made our Anniversary extra special.

My wedding was Sept 22,2018. It was Gatsby themed. I found Paolo while looking for a cigar girl. He contacted me and offered me a deal which included a cigar girl and 2 dancers. All I can say is that they were amazing. I have not stopped getting compliments about the dancers and cigar girl. It added that something extra special to my wedding that transported you back to the 1920s. Their costumes were amazing. Thank you so much. If I could give them more stars I would.xo

It was great decision to hire Paolo and his partner to perform at my husband's birthday party. We enjoyed their performance as well as the dance lesson. It was very professional and entertaining. Many of my guests are thinking of taking swing lessons now :)
Swing Dancer
When my mom and stepdad were younger, they would love to “cut the rug” every chance they got. At various family parties and weddings, they would inevitably have a ring of spectators watching them as they ”jitterbugged” their way around the dance floor. So, for my stepdad’s 80th birthday party, we though getting a pair of swing dancers would be a fun and appropriate surprise. We looked into several different dance companies but “Jumpin Entertainment” seemed the perfect fit. From the beginning of the hiring process, they were flexible and very communicative, always willing to answer our questions and eager to pair us with the perfect dancers for our event and they did not disappoint! The dancers they provided, Sammy and Akem were excellent! They were extremely personable and flexible and called before the party to make sure everything was set. They not only put on a fabulous show, dancing the Charleston and then the Lindy Hop, they also taught, whoever was brave enough to get up on the dance floor, some dance steps. Actually, Sammy and Akem were the brave ones, teaching us to dance but they were patient and explained each step thoroughly and everyone who participated really had a blast, especially my stepdad and mom. If you’d like to add some flair to your next party and make it a memorable event, definitely consider swing dancers from Jumpin Entertainment!

I hired Paolo Lanna & the Rhythgm Stompers to provide two couples for a concert at Kingsborough College in Brooklyn. They danced on stage with our big band providing music, did a routine to a recorded track, acted as party starters and gave swing dance lessons. They were fantastic and the crowd adored them. What to Expect
After reviewing your special event, we'll help you choose the right package that fits all your needs.
If you want dancers, we can bring any number from one couple to our full team of 10 dancers. If you need Live music we can suggest the Big Bands and Hot Jazz outfits that work with us on a regular basis. If you need a Deejay, we've got you covered.

The Rhythm Stompers have been featured at Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall, Hudson River Park’s Moondance, Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing, The Paramount, John Jay College, Swing Remix, Salute To Seniors at The Westchester County Center, and a multitude of special events. BB Kings featured this team for a multitude of functions featuring American born music styles. And our members have performed around the world from The Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy, to The Hep Cat Holiday, England.

Paolo Pasta Lanna
Choreographer | Dancer | Producer | Designer
Paolo is a 20 year veteran of Swing Dance specializing in the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston. Back in 1999 Paolo and his original partner Janice Wilson were the first Lindy Hoppers to Tour with with Wynton Marsalis & The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (Now JALCO) and in 1998 they won the American Swing Dance Championships. They performed with shows “Swing Dance America” and “Forever Swing” featuring Michael Buble. Over the years, Paolo has founded and launched events such at The Summer Jamboree Dance Camp in Italy, The Shake, Rhythm & Roll Festival in Asbury Park, and the Swing Remix dance spectacular in NYC. He coordinates dance teams The Lindy Hop All-Stars and Rhythm Stompers, and continues to hone his skills of the American born social dances, teaching and performing throughout the world. He was a guest artist/teacher at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing consecutively from 1999 – 2015 and in 2016 he performed 7 nights Live on the main stage at the Umbria Jazz festival in Perugia. He capped off the year with a 4 night show for Jazz At Lincoln Center performing with and co-directing The Rhythm Stompers.
Additional Booking Notes
The Rhythm Stompers & The Lindy Hop All Stars (LHAS) are delighted to be performing for you! In order to ensure the integrity of our performance and the safety of our dancers, please be advised that we request the following:
Dance surface
Client ideally should provide a dance floor. For our *optimal show we recommend a hard wood dance floor. If the dance surface is not wood or marley, we must be informed and approve of the dance surface before accepting gig.
The dance surface should be no smaller than the minimum dimensions specified by us, which will depend on the number of dancers in the performance and type of dances demonstrated.
Recommended minimum floor dimensions:
2 couples: 12’ X 18’
3 couples: 14’ X 24’
4 couples: 16’ X 30’
*Optimal – Due to the nature our dances, flooring is of great importance for us to showcase our footwork at it’s best. Some of our routines also include acrobatic lifts, tosses and other fancy tricks many of which require the optimal flooring situation.
Dressing/changing area
Client should provide a dressing/changing area for dancers. The dressing area should include table, chairs, mirrors, functioning electrical outlets, lighting, hanging rack for costumes, private bathroom and/or sink/washing area. If any of these items are not available, we must be informed in advance of the situation.
We request that the changing area be near the dance floor for ease and efficiency of costume changes. However, if this is not possible, please inform us of distance between dressing area and the “stage”, and configuration of performance area (e.g., whether there will be a backstage area, etc.).
Water/Food
Client must provide drinking water for dancers for any length event whether a 15 min show or 1.5 hr show.
Suggested Guidlines: 2 liters per dancer, in dressing area, before or upon arrival of dancers.
If our performance terms require our presence at your event for a period beyond 3 hrs, we will likely need to have food available to us especially if we are travelling from out of town. If you will be providing eats, we suggest healthy nutritious foods like whole fruits and vegetables, nuts and legumes and whole grains as they are always appreciated by our health conscious dancers.
Sound and Floor Check
We request a window of time ending no less than 1 hour before performance is scheduled to start in order to run through the performance on the dance floor. We need this time to do sound check and to assess the quality of the dance floor in order to make any necessary last-minute adjustments
Videotaping
If you are interested in having our performance videotaped, that should be discussed prior to the event. We generally are happy to have our show videotaped provided we are provided with a copy of the raw footage and/or final edited results. Please keep in mind that any broadcasting or distribution of our performance must be approved by us. We reserve all rights to our performance and still images.

Influences & Inspiration
Our influence are the dance styles born in America that grew out of the 1920s – 1950s
Credit to the dancers we learned from directly such as Frankie Manning, Ryan and Jenny, Marcus and Barble, Steven Mitchell, Eric and Sylvia, Sylvia Sykes, The Rhythm Hot Shots, The Jiving Lindy Hoppers. Their inspiring styles and dedication to educating future Lindy Hoppers helped to shape me and what we do today.
And of course credits to all the ground breakin originators who came before them from dance groups like Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers & The Harlem Congaroo Dancers that featured dance greats like Frankie Manning, Al Minns, Norma Miller to those based on the West Coast like Dean Collins & Jewel McGowel who appeared in countless films in the 1940’s and 50’s providing us with remarkable historic dance footage. Without these dancers, we would not have had such an amazing collection of dance styles to bring back to life.
